@Darasin That's a great point, actually. They can begin from there. I knew other titles like Doom 3 or Metal Gear Rising are available on the Shield, but I didn't know about TR.
@MarcelRguez it is money on the table. You have a HOT new system with decent abilities and Vulkan support to boot. Porting XBOX1 capable titles should not be an issue.
I feel it is a long shot although what gets shown at E3 will likely set the tone for 3rd parties. Right now there is the whole weird assumption about what games Nintendo owners play and they will likely feel any ports aren't worth the money. Honestly at this point I'd likely double dip on almost anything that was on a Sony or MS box for the portability. I really didn't think I'd care about the switch pulling double duty as much as I do but I think it is just fantastic. And since it is still small enough to go in a bag my switch is everywhere I am, tucked away in my purse/bag/case and ready to go.

I think some kind of double pack featuring the two Tomb Raider games is possible. The Switch is doing well and companies will want to capitalise on this with quick and easy to port titles to cash in on the currently small library of games. I think Lara Crofts being a classic 90s icon would also appeal to Switch's older mature owners.
On a related note I am very confident that a Final Fantasy 15 game of the year edition is going to be unveiled at E3. I think Square are going to go all in with the Switch and this is just the start.
Maybe, but Rise of the Tomb Raider is considered one of the most graphically impressive games out there. Especially on PS4 Pro. If they do port it, the visuals will take a hit. @Darasin
They probably won't release it because Switch owners are like "I do not care if it is slightly inferior to the PS4 version, I understand that this is a less powerful system" before it comes out, then go "BAH! HOW DARE U GIVE US THIS PIECE OF @@@!! I HATE SAQURE 1 DIE!!" when it actually gets released.
That is funny. And unfortunately, in some cases, pretty true.
Personally, I'm going to play all the super high-res games on my PC rig regardless, but I would love to see them bring some of the spin-off Tomb Raider games to Switch. Those little cooperative top-down games they did a few years ago were wicked fun, and would really fit the nature of the Switch.

Well I have it on PC and haven't beaten it yet. TBH the only way I can be bothered playing it is via Steam link. I'm not sure if I'd buy it again but if it was portable I'd be tempted. The visuals are great but for me personally convenience is worth far more.
Definitely. I wish I could play every home console game in portable mode.
Do you think we'll see a bundle with Rise and 2013 game? That'd be nice @skywake
I think a third release appearing on the Switch is more likely. If we get the older games you can pretty much guarantee they'll be overpriced compared to the other versions. Simply because the other versions are now in the bargain bins. That fact alone makes me sceptical about them doing a re-release.
But as a package or as a build-up to a third release? Then sure. Why not?
I think that Rise of the Tomb Raider didn't sell as well as expected/hoped and they have changed developers for the third reboot game so I don't see it as very likely.
Hard to say. It sold 4 million physical copies and who knows how many digital. Not sure what their goal was, but those are good sales numbers for a game. I think it sold almost as many copies as Halo 5 and more than Breath of the Wild on both Switch and Wii U combined.
