i tried posting about this back then in one of the "Other Games"'s threads, but of course no one replied. So now that it's coming out on the Switch this Thursday, I decided to give it its own thread. Hopefully I can actually talk to people about it. Anyone planning on getting this? Or already own it on PC? I did have it on my Steam wishlist, but I rather have it on something that isn't PC. (besides, I can play it wherever now, lol)
Now if only I could actually get a Switch so I can play it... I would post a trailer, but it doesn't really do a good job showing you what it really is. Just go look up some gameplay videos, Jacksepticeye has played it before.
Could you do me a favour and let me know what is going on? Lol. I have watched the video and I cannot make out what you have to do. I love how it looks and sounds like something from the original Tron film.

It looks pretty weird. Part of me says it looks cool, part of me says it's trying too hard to be edgy and comes away like nothing. Part of me says just the trailer is the closest to an acid trip I ever want to get. It's a rhythm game, but from the trailer....I wasn't detecting a rhythm to follow. I expected pumping electronica or something and instead got the lovechild of Philip Glass and Satan.
I don't intend to buy this, but I'm curious in hearing if there's more to it than appears
I wasn't even aware Thumper was coming to Switch. I've watched a bit of the PSVR version before but didn't connect the name and the game before I clicked this thread. I'm not sure if the game is for me though. I do like rhythm games but I feel like this game lacks variation and I'm not personally a fan of the visual style. I'm of course willing to try it out if it gets a demo so I can get a better feel for the game. It might be able to persuade me to buying it.
It's its, not it's.

@Joeynator3000 Here's that JackSepticEye video that you mentioned, might also make it more clear for possibly interested people like @GrailUK what the heck it is all about and what you have to do:
And for the record: you're not alone. I care about this game, it caught my attention the minute it was released. Played it on Steam at a friend's house, and it has a great vibe and playing it yourself is really exhilarating, something that a video can't really convey, although I have to compliment JackSepticEye for doing a pretty good attempt at giving us at least some idea of that...

@ThanosReXXX Thank you for that video Thanos sir. That really helped...and...I think I am sold! Heck, the NLife review mentioned it was made by the same people as Frequency so...yeah. Brb, downloading lol!

@ThanosReXXX It's still a bad acid trip mixed with a mid-80's death metal themed carnival ride. Somehow this is making me nostalgic and I feel like that's somehow not a good thing.
I'm a fan of rhythm games, not to much of a stranger of hard games, the closest sensory game I have played was a demo of BIT. TRIP. VOID demo on the Wii and the HD rumble is tantalizing . So when I get a Switch it's on my wishlist.
Was Mariobro4. No, I'm not taking off my backpack...it's important.
@GrailUK You're welcome. Be sure to let me know your final verdict. And be sure to either use a good headset or sound system, if you can (could be that other people in the house might not appreciate it so much if you do) it will make all the difference for the immersion.

@NEStalgia It is and trust me, it IS a good thing. Well, if you like rhythm games, obviously. What it reminded me of the first time I saw it, is those 80's and 90's rock album covers. The silver, the slight rainbow-colored hue, the name, the sound effects and so on.
It could have been a game made by Heavy Metal magazine, if they would have ever made a rhythm game.

@Joeynator3000 From the looks of it, that's pretty much the same as JackSepticEye's video, except without comments, so I think his video does a better job of explaining.
There's a review up on the front page now as well, so people can also go there for more info.

Yeah I know, then again I kinda figured some people wouldn't like/care about Jack as much. Not to mention it's a Nintendo site, and I know Jack pretty well. xD
