@BruceCM I am in UK so it’s probably an EU language pack like you say. Probably US version won’t need download. Yeah I was very happy to get it early. It runs on Switch better than my old gaming laptop with GTX 850M!

Well, in UK, you should just about manage to understand American, @Nostromo8 .... You shouldn't have the game yet, though

I asked a guy on YouTube who got early copy as well and he said that you can play without the update

I'm jealous of anyone who is playing this for the first time. I wish I could forget everything about this game and play it for the first time all over again

Hope y'all enjoy Switcher 3

Witcher 3 is among the best RPGs of the last decade and CDPR is definitely a developer you should keep your eye on

I might pick this up in due time out of morbid curiousity but for now I have the complete game with all the expansions on my PC and I'm saving up for my Cyberpunk 2077 pre-order

My copy arrived earlier today. Should be playing some later tonight...

I was gonna hold off on this one for a bit , but reading this thread made me fold and order it. Played about halfway through it on the pc and loved it . The only reason why I stopped playing it was because my wife got me a switch . Can’t wait to dive back in and conquer it this coming crack at it .

Started playing, then, @gcunit ....? How are you getting on with it, @Nostromo8?

@BruceCM Yep, played a couple of hours last night.

Prompts an update at launch, but seeing the suggestion that it's just a massive language pack I skipped the update and just played.

Played from the start to do the tutorials cos it's a while since I last played, but I skipped quite a lot of cutscene dialogue.

Runs nice and smooth in my experience so far (only played handheld so far, no docked). I made the mistake of adjusting the camera sensitivity before playing and made it over sensitive; the default setting is about where I want it, it turns out.

I found, due to how heavy this game goes on lighting, deep sunsets and shadows etc, the race at the start against Ciri was a bit tricky cos Switch just can't offer the dynamic range really required, so it was a bit tricky making out the details in the shadows to plot my course while trying to do it quickly. Though in hindsight, I reckon that was partly my fault by having camera sensitivity too high, making everything move around too fast for my eyes to cope.

Only other negative is the lack of gyro aiming - would love if they could patch that in (and let me turn off that update nag at launch).

Didn't progress as far as I was hoping cos I found the first monster fight harder than I remembered on PC and died a silly amount of times until I accepted I just needed to use the shielding sign (which worked first time).

But yeah, really really happy with it, and this will be my main game for a while I predict; Astral Chain will have to go on backup duty for a bit.

Cool, @gcunit .... So, where exactly are you?

@BruceCM what do you mean? Do you want my address? Or just where I am in the game? If the latter, just about to leave White Orchard for Vizima I think. If the former, FOAD!

In game, obviously, @gcunit .... What's the 12th studio album by Darkthrone got to do with anything, though?
(That's the top google result, anyway)

May be a stupid question, but since the size of the cardridge is very small (32 gb) i wonderd if the switch-version of TW3 features all languages (with that i mean dub not sub)

mariomaster96

BruceCM

That's the biggest Switch cart available, @mariomaster96 .... As we've been saying here, there is a language pack to download, which would presumably be available everywhere
Couldn't say for sure just which languages are available & if all of them have dub, though If you want to say hich region/country are you in & which language you want, I can look?

@BruceCM Thx good to know
Nah that wont be a problem, i life in austria and i already played TW3 on PC therefore i know that the game features a german dub, i just wanted to know if the switch version also features the german dub since im used to it (altough the english one wouldnt be a problem)

Scratch that. I now reckon I'd turned the gamma down at the start (based on the gamma setting tool when I first started the game). So I've banged that up s fair bit and now I can see what's going on. Rookie.

Played this game to death already but to anyone here that has yet to experience the Witcher 3 I think you're in for a real treat.
