I really want it but how well will it sell? The only appeal it has is on the go playing for those other system owners. It's needed but once again might be too late.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
I'm definitely stoked for this! I know by most standards it's an "old" game, but I'm one of the few who hasn't played it.
I'm glad. I'm worried that it will compare very poorly if you play it after Breath of the Wild, which is doing a similar thing with its open world just with much more polished gameplay. However, Skyrim has a unique ambiance and setting, and the first-person perspective is very unique for a modern RPG. The story actually gets really good in the first expansion questline, and the world is interesting throughout.
I'm very curious how well Skyrim will function as a launch title. It's an old game that a ton of gamers have played, but a very marketable and in-the-zeitgeist one. I know the Special Edition (of which this is a downgraded port) was the #2 seller its first week, but that was on three established install bases.
Okay, real talk: Whyyyy is this thing coming out in March!? Just the fiscal year stuff? Investors set garbage cans on fire whenever Nintendo does anything these days, the gainsman faux-prophets.
A summer, fall, or even just April/May launch would allow the Switch to sidestep the PS4's competing titles like Horizon and have more of these games ready. Or are they trying to create a steady build of titles?
one of my favourite games of all time, but i will not get it for switch (if i ever get a switch) because i got it on pc and im fine with playing it only on pc.
great for everyone that has never played this gem though! pick this up and get lost in it !!
THis might actually sell very poorly, certainly not a system seller. Probably intended at those nintendo fans who never played it. I will not buy it. I dont have so much time anymore to get heavily invested in gaming worlds. Zelda botw and Xenoblade should be really huge and worthy of play. Skyrim IMHO is not.
@Haru17: I watched footage of the beginning some time ago, and it definitely sold me as a game I wanted to play. The only ES game I've ever played was Oblivion; it was only the first part of it since I was playing it on a cousin's system that I don't normally have access to. I enjoyed what little I did play of it, but I know Skyrim has some differences.
Edit: I really hope it sells at least somewhat well, otherwise I'm afraid Bethesda might jump ship.
If you like RPG's or open world games at all, you need to buy Skyrim. It's absolutely a must-buy. I put hundreds upon hundreds of hours into this game.
I'll double dip to keep Bethesda from blaming us for non sales, but I will likely not open it. Unless you can use mods.

Yeah, I really don't know if Bethesda's next project / new IP is coming to Switch. And even then it'll be a worse version than PS4/Xbox. Just keep your expectations in check, I love that they're on Nintendo now but it could just be a port.
@Octane It is like voting; I have no faith at all in the system but I feel compelled to do it anyway. I don't want to be the "one" that is to blame. It is fine. I will likely give it to my brother. He is a new dad and NS is about the only way he would be able to play it due to the portability. Besides I just want to have hope that we will get TES: VI on NS.
