@SKTTR I have DKC and DKC2 on my New 3DS and I had the privilege of even playing them in SNES (I rented the sequel) though I could never beat them when I was child. Thankfully they got released in GBA and I purchased and beat DKC2 (I wasn't so interested in the first one at that time, as I find it more difficult than the sequel and I didn't enjoyed many hard games when I was a kid).
About two years ago was when I finally get DKC on N3DS and beat it. It was no longer as difficult as back in the day thanks to the experience that I now have (20+ years of gaming) and really enjoyed playing every world 😊

@SamusLv7 Congratulations! I remember my first time beating DKC, it was such a challenge, such an epic game at the time. My very first game took me 34 hours and I had only 70%.
@SKTTR Does that really do anything beside utilize a unique control scheme? Gameplay wise it still doesn't seem like anything particularly novel.
It does things different enough than any other platformer. The novelty's not on controls alone. There's a deep combo system that's unlike anthing else and the level design is built around it. Only the Gamecube version has the unique control scheme (and more interesting levels). The Wii version is heavily modified.
@SKTTR Thanks and well done reaching 70% in your first beat 👍
I beat DKC in 3h 43min. with 64% (but it only took me this time because of my gaming experience. If I had cleared it as a kid, it will probably take me like 40 hours to beat it).

Mario Vs Donkey Kong was literally an updated Donkey Kong '94 though
Yeah, it was the last great DK game (since all the sequels were just puzzle games).
I personally didn't like it for its GBA graphics, I liked the style of the original way more.
Need to revisit it though. Is it available on Wii U?
I loved tropical freeze. I would be happy even if at some point we get another one of that fine game. If they go 3d again, it will need the finesse of odyssey and the soundtrack like tropical freeze. It'll be tough to create that but who knows.
I love the franchise, but I have to say I'm just starting with Country saga.
I've mostly played Donkey Kong (GB), probably the best remake ever made, and laterly, thanks to Hamster and for the first time available outside the arcades (legally, of course), Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr. I had (and still have) a Donkey Kong II too.
Mario vs. Donkey Kong is a saga I have yet to get acquainted with, but I'm afraid I won't like it as much as DK GB.
@erv something I would like in the next Country sequel, is having King K. Rool and his baddies as the main antagonist and in some way, it makes sense now that he is in Smash Ultimate.

@SamusLv7 Thanks. I started DKC on the SNES Mini last Summer, but I got entangled with my endless backlog. I was enjoying it. But, to be fair, I knew what I could expect because I played Donkey Kong Land when I was a kid. It's a different game, not a port like DL2 and DL3, but the style remains the same.
I have DKC for SNES too, but started playing it on the Mini in order to do it on the big screen of the living room, HDMI and stuff. After that I will play 2 and 3 on the actual SNES, because I bought them complete (Japanese versions, thought), then goes DKC Returns on Wii and Tropical Freeze on Wii U.
@Moroboshi876 I only played DKC3 in a GBA SP that was displayed in a gaming store many years ago. I think that in the next month, I'll buy it in the N3DS Virtual Console just like I did with DKC and DKC2.
