My son and I are working on a Switch based eSports league for elementary school students in our area. We are interested in feedback (game selection, concept, etc. ). Thanks!

If your gonna use Rocket league, you could set up brackets with different 3v3 game modes.
1st bracket could be snow day, which is pretty good for ground games.
2nd bracket could be hoops, which is good for airial games.
3rd bracket could be rumble, teams need to be resourcefull with the items they get to use.
Finals could be a regular 3v3 where teams can show off what skills they've got.

Currently I’m planning Splatoon, Rocket League, and SSBU when it comes out in Dec.

I know it’s not typical but I was thinking 4v4 in RL. I know there isn’t as much strategy, but with the ages I’m looking at, keeping all kids busy is paramount.

SSBU will be 1v1 bracket.

I think Splatoon 2 will be the biggest hit.

My friends and I get together and have tournaments of various games and we have a lot of games we rotate between (some we haven't gotten to yet)
ARMS
Dragon Ball Fighterz (Switch soon)
Pokken Tournament
Street Fighter (30th Anniversary adds a ton of options)
Super Smash Bros. (we did Wii U and will be doing the new one for sure)
Fast RMX
Mario Kart 8
FIFA
Mario Tennis Aces
NBA Playgrounds
Rocket League
Worms WMD
Overcooked (for team competitions)
Crawl (good indie game for a competition)

Plus we'll have Mutant Football League coming out this Fall
