Now, a subscription service isn't out of the question. Let's pretend they set it to $5 a month. This would mean a subscriber would have to pay $60 a year. This is probably more than most spends on VC in a typical year. It would also be recurring revenue which is something companies usually prefer.

Except that:
1. The people who drag the average spend on VC down would be less likely to subscribe anyways
2. The people who would subscribe regardless would be more than happy to pay for a VC release

Again, I much prefer the idea of My Nintendo integration. Lets say they give subscribers an additional 20 gold coins a month ontop of whatever they usually get. And then on the Switch they allow you to spend gold coins on whatever VC release you want. Collected 70 gold coins? Pick from this list of SNES games to redeem. Still a subscriber? Pick something from this list of subscriber tier My Nintendo rewards.

Much more elegant than a Netflix style service. Both in terms of what we get as consumers in terms of permanent ownership and for Nintendo's profits by not destroying the VC outside of the subscription

Some playlists: Top All Time Songs, Top Last Year
"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"

@skywake Add a one-month or three-month sub to the rewards list like you suggested before, and then you've got a (potentially) great service.
