Hi everyone I seriously thinking about buying the switch, I'm disabled so I don't go out that much, so my question is, is it worth buying one just to play at home? Any replys very welcome to help me decide
@steve3110 Not knowing the details of your circumstances, I would guess 'definitely'. You'll be able to carry it around the house with you and play wherever you fancy, rather than having to get yourself in front of a TV, and if you use a case with game card slots you can carry all your games around too so won't ever have to go to any effort to change games. For those with mobility issues I would say the Switch is a dream.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@steve3110 I don't have any disabilities, and I mainly use it as a home console and it's still amazing. The portability is really cool, but I think a system should be based on it's software, not entirely on it's hardware, and the Switch has some great games coming out, and some great games already out. I would definitely reccomend it.

You'll get biased answers here because, we're naturally all fans of the system here, but depending on what your limitations are there's no reason not to if the hardware format or the games appeal to you. If you plan to not use the portability aspect even in the house, then your decision between this versus other tv game consoles will be down only to which game library you like most rather than what hardware you prefer. If you may have use of the ability to take the hardware with you in the room or think you'd value the "instant on/instant off" nature, then it's an easy choice!
The thing with Switch is despite the fact that it has some compromises in performance to allow it to be portable, it IS still the most powerful home console Nintendo has made (beating out WiiU by a good margin.) It's not as powerful as a PS4, so if you prefer that library or graphics output, that may be where you want to go. But it's still the current and most powerful Nintendo console, despite also being the most powerful portable (from any company, ever.) NES->SNES->N64->GCN->Wii->WiiU->Switch as well as Gameboy->GBC->GBA->NDS->3DS-Switch.
You canโt go wrong with it. But look into the games that are available to see if they meet your tastes before getting it. Theres a lot of good ones on the horizon by the end of the year coming out though.
@NEStalgia thanks for your reply it was really helpful, I've already got a ps4 pro, just liking a lot of nintendo games like zelda Mario and the rpg xenoblade chronicles 2 that's out December
@steve3110 sounds like an easy decision! If you like the games you'll like the system, no question! I'd say go for it! (Whenever stock is available that is )

Switch is the puuurfect secondary console to a PS4. Its great docked or in handheld in bed. I highly suggest you get a Switch. One can not survive just on Greatness. Gotta own the Nintendo magic as well.
Of course, you can play normally on tv and you can use it as a handheld even at home, it's not like you are forced to use it outdoor if you want to use it as an handheld. You can even plug it to the tv and never use it like a handheld. If you like Nintendo games and you want to play Switch exclusive games there is no reason to skip it even if you don't go out often. It is just an option but obviously it's up to you to decide how to use it in the end
I used to be a ripple user like you, then I took The Arrow in the knee
It really depends on which library of games you like. If you want big 3rd Party games with lots of players online, then I suggest either PS4 or Xbox console. And if you like Nintendo games, then it's no brainer to get a Switch.
Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

@steve3110
Of course you are deserved for Nintendo Switch. With a lot of interesting games, you can enjoy it every single moments, especially Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with Special Option for Disabled people.
I'm so sorry to know about your disability.
Go get your dream with Nintendo Switch !
May your Nintendo Switch be your best buddy and accompany you in every situation.
Thanks for the kind reply mate, it's my legs that are disabled, so playing the switch won't be a problem, I've picked one up now and living it, can't stop playing zelda lol
Congrats on making the leap. It's an excellent system whether on the go or just around the house. Even at home I often play in handheld mode cough*inthebathroom*cough laying in bed or when I am just in the mood. And it boasts Nintendo's awesome library of first parties. If you enjoy Nintendo, I doubt you wouldn't enjoy this.
