Hi All
I bought the Nintendo Swithc 2 weeks ago along with Zelda (pretty much the onlyl reason I got this console).
Everything was fine until the last weekend.
I bought the console in UK as I live there. I enjoyed my new toy for 2 weeks, and then I took the console and went to Spain (where I come from) to spend a couple
of days with my family.
I ran out of battery because I played while I was flying and the first thing I did when I got to home was to try to charge the Switch with the usb-c cable in a desktop pc that I have there.
This didn't work, so I tried the cable with one of those adaptors for mobiles and plugged the console directly to a socket. It didn't work either, not only that, the internal fan of the Switch started to
sound pretty bad and a weird message pops up in the home:
Error Code: 2101-00014
An error has occurred, Please press teh POWER Button and restart the console....
I restarted the console and everything was fine, I still had 20% battery. I tried the usb-c cable in a different pc and same result no charge and same error after a while.
I tried with a laptop, same error.
When I got back to uk I plugged the switch with the orignal AC adaptor, no charge. I tried with the Dock, no charge...
At this point I'm going to send the console to nintendo and finger crossed they don't have to wipe out my save data, I've got around 25 hours of Zelda!
Have any of you experienced something like this?
Did I fry my Switch using that usb-c cable (from the pro controller) in a different country? (Different voltages?)
Sorry I'm a bit confused, I don't know if I did something wrong or it just my console was defective when I bought it and it simply died.
25 hours is very little in Zelda. It sucks, but you're better off in the long run if you return it now and take them up on the warranty.
My original DS stopped reading game carts, which wiped progress on Mario Kart because I had to return the game cart that came with the bundle. No idea how Switch saves work, or whether they'll have to replace the console itself or not.
I've decided to send the console to Nintendo, and hopefully I will have my save data when it gets back. I read that other users had that lucky, it seems that Nintendo has some cloud system for these cases and sometimes people get their save data safe and sound.
I know it's very little, but play everything again from the beginning puts me off, and it's my boyfriend as well, he has much more hours than me.
To be honest I'm quite disappointed with the console itself. It has so many errors and things that could be better. I really like Nintendo, I absolutely adore my Nintendo 3DS and my old Nintendo DS, but the Switch.... It could've been much much better and a great console.
@yukino31 Sorry to hear that .. I had to send a faulty Joy-Con in for repair, but Nintendo UK were able to fix it and get it back to me reasonably quickly
You can arrange a repair online at nintendoservicecentre.co.uk ..you'll have to photocopy your receipt as proof of purchase, but they'll send you a pre-paid postage label for your parcel to cover the cost of delivery - just pack it, take it to the Post Office, get Proof of Postage (just in case!) and you're good to go ..you should have it back within a couple of weeks (mine took a little longer because I sent it in just before the Easter Public Holiday)
Hey guays. Quick question, I'm about to send the console. My doubt is what to send, just the console, or should I include the dock, cables, joycons.... The problem is the tablet itself nothing else.
