i'm not sure how much interest there will be in a thread like this but I'll try anyway.

Since we have loads of arcade games on Switch and with many more likely to arrive.I thought it would be fun if we added a little something to them by having a place to share our high scores and compete against each others. We could have a top 5 or top 10 for each specific game, depending on interest.Even if there's only a few of us with the same game,it'll still be fun to compete against each other.I'll list all the games I've got and later I'll edit it with my high scores.I've added Aero Fighter 2 to get started as I was just playing it and set a new score. Some of these games are more suited to high score chasing than others but I'll add them anyway.

The only rules are you must use the default set of lives and continues must be set to off.The Neo Geo games are great because they have a built in high score mode with these rules already set.Namco Museum and the Psikyo games don't have this mode but just be honest with these, there's no glory in cheating I think NM score resets after 1 continue anyway. If your score beats the current top score then share a screenshot to prove it

That's a great idea to get some more playtime out of the arcade games.
I don't own any of them yet, but I might get the Namco Museum if it gets released on retail. In the meantime I want to make Sine Mora EX my first arcade like experience on Switch. It is on its way to me, and I hope I can get some competition on that one with a bunch of people here soon.

Funny, I was actually thinking of doing something similar the other day.
We need some kind of Highscore Challenge club where each month we decide on a game and people have, say, one week to submit their best score.

However, I feel it should be about any game that people can get their hands on on most platforms, rather than being limited to Switch games, so more people can join in.

Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...

I'm fine with extending it to any game or platform. Not sure how we can make it work though.I'm not very good with these kind of things Maybe if everyone just has the one post with all their scores and edit it when you get a new game/set a new score. Then I can check what users have the same game's and make mini leaderboards for them.A High Score Challenge Club could be good.We could do something like that on top of this.

It all depends on interest really,Hopefully some others will want to take part to get it going.

I did this in the past with a bunch of mates. We set up a WhatsApp group chat; we would decide on a game to tackle and set a time limit (say, one week) and everybody would try and get the highest score at said game and send the screenshot through WhatsApp. I think the only general rule was that you could only submit your highscore once, which prevented people from flooding the chat with screenshots and made everything easy to keep track of. Naturally most highscores would be submitted on the last day of the challenge, which was usually on Saturdays or Sundays, so you would have the football results on telly and the highscore results on mobile ehe.

We mainly did mobile games because of the arcade/score attack nature of them and the fact that we all had phones, so we all had the same system. Plus it was easy to grab screenshots and send them, and games are generally free/cheap and could be played anytime/anywhere. Also, it was great that we used mobile phones to keep in touch rather than email/forums because it made the group much more compact.

It's a lovely thing to do if people are interested.
