Very minor thing I noticed during the Ridley trailer: One of the matches was with HP since Link dies on the spot after Ridley's tail attack. Nothing new or special, just a cool detail.
It's its, not it's.

Yeah, it being built on Unreal Engine 4 straight up confirms it's new. Entirely different engine lol.
Everyone ever returning was pure hype, and Ridley was an AMAZING surprise. Looking forward to it.
The Invitational having both Melee and 4 pros makes sense now, as the game clearly is somewhere between those two trying to cater to both fanbases with the return of directional air dodge, which will make Melee players VERY happy, plus 8 player smash returning.
Also looks like they're issuing new Gamecube controllers. The Smash logo on the one they showed is different from the ones they issued for Smash 4.
@Snaplocket Doc doesn't use FLUDD like Mario, and also has a new down aerial, Pichu also has several different normal attacks from Pikachu even before considering changes from Melee we haven't seen, same for Young Link who has the multi-stab Link ditched in Brawl.
Alone, a force. Together, a force of nature.

I think people are getting confused because a lot of content is being 'reused', but really that content spans ALL Super Smash Bros and has nothing to do with SSB4, and also all of it has been remade, not just remastered. This is NOT a port at all.
@Randomname19 Well thank you for this lovely little bit of nightmare fuel.
Seeing all the "Daisy-Ridley" jokes people have been making all day makes me feel less bad for thinking that was the interior of Starkiller Base Samus, Mario, and Mega-Man were in at first and they were setting up for a Rey or Kylo reveal.
And is it just me, or does Sakurai look like he lost weight?

Character redesigns? Reusing and updating old characters? Adding new stages? Adding new modes?
Totally a port

I'm so happy rolling will now be more punishable, that was a big problem in some online matches. Also glad to see the Monoto Arts are easier to use, and the fact that EVERYONE IS BACK!!! It's awesome. I'm really hyped.
Just a geek that likes video games, and spends to much time playing Smash Bros. and Fortnite.

@Silly_G It's not a port. It's running on a different engine (Unreal), tons of redone graphics, many animations have been redone or added (see those screenshots of DKs expresssions?) The entire game's been rebalanced, we have at least what, 6 characters who were missing from Smash 4 and 2 new ones so far (with another likely after the tournament, and two or three more at Directs throughout the year), new stages, a completely new UI, changed movesets, the entire speed of the game is different, many mechanics have been revamped (including shielding, dodging, final smashes, aerials...), and most likely all the modes are going to be different from Smash 4. That's no port.
Changed movesets alone don't make this a port. It's a fighting game, the core of gameplay lies completely with how fighters play. And added little tweaks like punishing defensive play and readding directional air dodging while even closer edging towards Melee speed.
So please, stop calling this a port.
