Just how we had a super Mario Maker bookmark site for the Wii u. I hope they release something similar for super Mario Maker 2.
Was nice finding levels on your phone to bookmark and play straight to the Wii u

We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.

Alright my peeps, I’m back in the game.

Just uploaded my first level, and I intend to churn out quality just like in the first game. In fact I may re-create some of my courses from the previous game because I got a lot of positive feedback for them.

In any case, here’s the opening pitch. Short and sweet, reasonably challenging but not over the top with difficulty. I would of course appreciate any honest feedback so that I can improve as I go. I want to be sure I’m providing enough challenge to keep the player engaged while not taking the difficulty too far to the point of frustration. In my experience I’m slightly above average when it comes to platformer skill, so I try to make levels that are at the right difficulty for me, and just hope that most other longtime advanced platformer players will find it just right.

FYI I do plan on going through this thread and playing the stages posted here. Will be sure to post back with feedback.

@Quarth I'm sure my first levels won't be nearly so well-done.

I like the hidden coin on the ceiling in "Lame." As for Nothing Special, I think it'd be a pretty decent level if the coins hidden out of the way took a tad bit more time to get to. I could actually see this working really well with a "collect all coins" condition or something.

@JaxonH Decent level. I like the sequence with the piranha plant and the timer blocks. Although that was only after going back and playing a second time (I found your secret exit on my first run )

Holy crap, for real? I just threw that in there as an Easter egg, but I didn’t actually expect anyone to find it. You’re good.

I’m still warming up here trying to channel my creativity, so that level was just my attempt at dipping my toes in the water. I’m hoping that the levels will improve as I go on. And of course get longer and more elaborate as well.

@Quarth
Well done. Hope it wasn’t too hard. I had 5% clear rates on most of my stages in the first game. I want to get that number above 50% this time.

Alright. Time to recreate a few levels from Mario Maker Wii U, with some tweaks and modifications to ensure difficulty is kept in check. Then, after that, I’m gonna start checking out some other people’s levels.

@JaxonH I've tried some levels with sub-5% clear rates so far. Most of them have been... decent? Even the bad ones weren't obnoxious troll levels like I remember commonly encountering in Mario Maker Wii U, though. I see the value of that online sub now: it helps to weed out small children and some of the trolls.

Oh, and yeah, I always test for secret exits. It was a common tactic in Mario Maker Wii U for people to create obnoxiously hard levels and then give themselves an easy out early on so that they could upload it without subjecting themselves to its rigours. Obviously, that's not the case with yours, but the habit has stuck.

@NorseGamerTommy Awesome stuff! LOVED your coin collectathon course.
@Morpheel decent course. A bit of it seemed like it could do with more character to make it feel like a pit, but otherwise really good level.
@RedderRugfish demolition was too frustrating but I loved the other 2 levels, keep them up.
@Zekenator some nice easy levels there, a nice change from dying 20 times.
@LetsGoSwitch That airship level was pretty good. Night Sky level I think needs some tweaking. I felt choked when I started as the screen moved too fast and several times I found myself jumping without knowing where to go. Maybe it's just my claustrophobia talking but the part with the shell and on/off switch just did it for me. A bit of extra work though and you have a good level there.

Also thanks to all those who played my level. I'll try to get to everyone's when I can.
