Topic: Super Bomberman R online is dead?

Can only find like 2 people so I wanna know if its just me or not. I really want to play a Bomberman game with people since I loved playing it back in the day but I am getting no one in League Battle nor whatever Free Battle is...

@Ardisan I own the game but haven't touched it in months and with all the other Switch games I'd say this one is probably pretty dead besides a few outliers who still play it.

Yeah whenever I try the online it's always the same couple people playing. It was more popular at launch but since all the decent games with online came out like MK8, Arms, Splatoon etc this just kinda died out. Shame but most consider it to be a very average, textbook sort of bomberman.

I think most people who bought it were people who owned the Switch back when it first launched and there wasn't really anything worth playing aside from Zelda. Now that the library has filled out and there's new online games coming all the time like Splatoon 2 and Pokken, most people are moving away from it. Pretty big shame when a game you like doesn't have a lot of players.

We still play SBR around the house from time to time. It's true, it got a big boost by launching at a time when there was basically no competition, and now there are dozens of things eating up the Switch time. But it's still good fun for local multiplayer. I never played it online, it's just not that kind of thing for me.

For me, the online part is too laggy, every time im trying to place a bomb then it takes a half(or less) a second before i can see the bomb on the screen, then im trying to go back and place a New One then the first bomb Just showing up and then it's too late to get away. And that just dosent Work for me in a Game where you have to be fast on the Buttons.

So for me then it feels like a Game that they Just had to Rush through the developers to get Out in the shops which is sad.

Yea, I would think after MK and Splatoon (among others) that online is pretty dead for this.

This seems pretty standard with launch titles. Killzone on PS4 was dead within months no matter what Sony did to try keep it active.

For those who find the online dead, please join our Super Bomberman R server on discord! You can play free battles easily there with other bomberman R fans! We also plan to make tournaments in the future

I think the other bomberman thread is enough for now.
