I'm having doubts now. I hear that Xbox One and PS4 versions will get a digital copy of Ultra Street Fighter IV (360 and PS3 backwards compatibility), and these versions are actually 5 β¬ cheaper -not surprising, but still-, so I don't know what version to buy. Because I want USFIV having only vanilla SFIV and the 3DS version. Ultra is the ultimate one, with all the characters.
Switch PROS: portability. Tournament Mode is already included in Super Street Fighter II at least and I won't be getting together with 3 more Switch owners with the game.
Switch CONS: a little more expensive and no real prospects of significant price drops. The biggest one, though, is no Ultra Street Fighter IV.
Xbox One PROS: price -and will be cheaper on time, as usual-, USFIV included.
Xbox One CONS: it seems that USFIV comes only with pre-orders, so waiting for a price drop would mean losing the game. I already have too much fighting games on Xbox One, let alone games in general. No portability means that I'm almost restricted to weekends, and a couple hours only because family and stuff.
@Moroboshi876 I don't like SF4 enough. I have USF4 on Steam and I'm not a big fan of it. I also have Street Fighter X Tekken both on PS3 and on Steam and honestly I like it a lot more. And I mean A LOT. Except the fact that on Steam it has an awful lot of issues and it is basically unplayable unfortunately (thanks GFWL). But this is really a fun and exciting game imho.
Anyway, I don't have a PS4 or a XOne but even if I had, I would still buy the collection on Switch, of course because I'm a Switch fan, but also because SF4, or USF4 either, is not good enough to be tempting imho.
I used to be a ripple user like you, then I took The Arrow in the knee
@LuckyLand I own Street Fighter X Tekken on 360, still sealed. Actually I'm trying to sell it because I don't have time for so much games, and if I haven't unsealed it yet, that must mean something. And 360 version has less characters, which makes me angry, especially when they come on-disk also in this version, but are PS3 exclusives.
The thing is I have two SFIV versions, which are the original one and the more packed for 3DS, but Ultra would be the ultimate, with all the roster. And I'm a sucker for these things.
I'm more inclined for Switch version though, I don't have time for playing 12 more fighting games at home, but will see.
I'm very disappointed Switch doesn't get SFIV like the other systems. Not that SFIV is an amazing, must have game or anything. But if they trade off is the tournament mode, I would strongly prefer SFIV. It's just hard to see the Switch missing out on a pre-order bonus that every other version gets.
Is this game still releasing late May? I've yet to pre-order it but am growing more and more excited about the prospect of playing it online with other folks on here.
@8-Bit_Superman Yes, as I said I'm more inclined for Switch version, because I'm not willing to pay full price for an Xbox One game, that will be much cheaper soon, and preorder means paying full price. So USFIV is not a factor anymore and most probably will buy it on Switch. I prefer USFIV physical anyway.
@Moroboshi876
I wasn't aware that SFIV was on the PS4, not sure why they'd port it to that and not the Switch . While it is annoying not having the preorder bonus on the Switch, I'm not too bothered as to be honest SFIV kind of sucked anyway. I think the Xbox One already has backwards compatibility for the 360 version, but I've never tried it.
Reporting the latest version of Collection Edition for the NS sold out like wildfire in less then 30 min from the French online retailer. If anyone got one be happy you got your NS version
@Lroy Thanks for the offer. I will see if Amazon's system changes the status and if, by the end of the month, it's still prohibited, I'll take you up on your offer!

Who's everyone intending to play as their main character for online battles then? I know Ryu and Ken are a given to be the most often encountered opponent but intrigued to hear what other characters you hope to master?
@Lroy I'll probably fall back into my old habits and pick Sakura, Rose, Chun-Li and Ryu, although I'll might try trolling with Dan since this game doesn't have a "I'm using motion controls" button.

@Lroy Definitely Vega! I play him on the SFII Final Challengers online as you don't see many people playing as him. He has a good range of attacks and is fast. My old favourite is Ryu though.

@meppi64 hehe, that's why I play him! Not many people do. Once you get into him, he is very easy to master and has some really nice combos, such as with his rolling attack.
