Sounds like business is about to pick up as Square Enix is concerned! It'd be awesome to see numbered Final Fantasy titles return to a Nintendo console, all these years after they jumped ship to PlayStation with FF VII!
Here's the relevant quote about Switch support, for convenience...
“Nintendo Switch is seeing rapid uptake, and we welcome the arrival of such a platform. We intend to be proactive in our development efforts given that it’s a platform that is well suited to the mid-sized titles at which we excel.
We base our development resource allocations on the unique attributes of each platform. In particular, Nintendo Switch makes it easier for us to leverage our back catalog of assets and expertise, so we want to be proactive in creating
new IP and rebooting past titles for that platform.”
Let's attack aggressively, kupo! :D

I would love to see updated ports of older FF titles. I would KILL for Kingdom Hearts ports to the Switch. I would buy 1 and 2 a third time to play them on the go. I am sure the PS3 versions could be ported to the Switch with little difficulty and I hope they would be released as a set.

@Snaplocket Agreed. I have disliked load times ever since the C64 days. I rather loaded the game in one go as opposed to a level at a time. Really disruptive. What feels strange (having never played Skyrim before) is opening a door and loading the interior.
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
@kkslider5552000 Agreed. I am not a fan of Square two main directors. Nomura's vision is great, but it gets muddled up by unnecessary side-stories/spin-offs. And Tabata always does tragedies. Chrono Trigger was neither of those things.
Honestly, they should just release Chrono Trigger/Cross as HD classics or something.
I'd be cool with updated versions. I'd arguably even be cool with a new Chrono game.
I think making Chrono Trigger 2 would just be guaranteeing disappointment, and it's unfair to expect any newer team to make a worthy followup to one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time.

And yet I can think of at least 20 other RPGs I'd rather play day (probably more then that to be honest).
Ok seriously, are you just gonna do this for every thread? No one cares that you don't like a game that other people like. This adds nothing to the discussion. Stop.
@kkslider5552000 An updated look in the vein of Secret of Mana would be nice. Maybe even add some voice acting and give Crono some dialogue. At this point, I'd take a theatrical release, thought that might not turn out well.
@Snaplocket To be honest, I don't see what that has to do with remaking Chrono Trigger. It's just a nicely made game from the 90s. Nothing more to it.
Ugh - Blue Dragon was horrible. Most RPGs take some time to get the story/gameplay rolling and all that, but Blue Dragon was way too slow for an insane amount of time.
Most of those early Xbox 360 RPGs weren't so great. The only ones I liked were Lost Odyssey and Eternal Sonata.
If we get ports of old Final Fantasy games, they should not use the terrible mobile versions. They should take after the PSP version of Final Fantasy IV.
If they MUST use 3D graphics though, don't use the DS FFIV or Secret of Mana style. We have console-levels of quality now, there's room to smooth them out and give more polygons.
Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill
