It was shown in one of the Japanese live streams before, but spectator mode has been confirmed!
Along with the 8 members in a private battle, an additional 2 can join as the cameramen. You can switch between players at any time and also view the map. I think it's a great feature from a competitive standpoint. They even mention that one person could leave the map open while the other changes between players and someone commentates over the video which could be posted to the internet.
As mentioned before, up to 8 players can connect wirelessly with the undocked Switch, but you can connect 10 when docked via a wired LAN connection which can be used for competitions much like the Splatoon Koshiens.
Even if i don't care about this feature since i'm the only one in my zone that plays Splatoon, it really sounds awesome to me on a marketing standpoint. This can be another really good way for pushing Switch and make people interested in it. I'm really happy about it
I love the new music we hear. It's so hype! It's also great that I can finally try out splatoon before deciding to buy it. Also that Splatoon 2 Dab thing is Amazing! I know it's meant to look like a 2 but when I first saw the presentation I thought he was just dabbing but failing miserably! XD

Anyway a demo sounds great, but the six hour-length periods are kind of restrictive, like the Wii U pre-release demos IIRC. And though it will help the Switch's launch feel more crowded, late March is pretty far from the game's summer launch. I hope we see more demos in the intervening months.

It looks literally identical in a Twitch stream, but now that I look at the new media, it does look a lot nicer than Splatoon on the Wii U. The ink splatters a lot nicer, with less of the odd straight or rectangular edges I saw in the first game. It also has a much better reflective texture. I wish the UI was a bit more simple and readable given that it's such a busy game, but oh well.
I don't really like competitive multiplayer games — or multiplayer games at all outside of Monster Hunter — but I like the dodge roll and super move nonsense I see in Splatoon 2. The whole thing just looks a lot less mechanically bare than western shooters and has a pleasantly physical look to all of the movements and shots.

I remember the original having a bunch of testfires, even after launch.
Anyway, prepare for humiliating defeat!!!
