I feel like any boss is annoying when there‘s more than one of it, especially on opposite ends of the map. But yeah, Flyfish, Drizzlers and Stingrays are pretty much the most annoying common bosses. They are nothing to the real menace, though ... Smallfry. I hate these vermin so much! You hardly notice them but they can splat you in a few hits, especially when you take extra damage from a Drizzler.
Not knowing how to deal with a boss aside, I feel like a large amount of Profreshionals still focus way too much on delivering the Golden Eggs and not so much on the actual survival of the team. 'Oh, a mate‘s down, I better go revive him' doesn‘t occur to so many Inklings, I had to slowly crawl my way to the basket whilst screaming 'HELP!' at the top of my lungs so many times it‘s not even funny anymore. Or how about protecting the two Flyfish destroying mates/the Charger who‘s getting ready to destroy a Steelhead from oncoming Chum and Cohock? Or staying with/quickly returning to a mate that just got splatted right before my eyes?
The advice that you guys gave me about how best to tackle Griller's has worked a treat! Thanks so, so much! (..again!) I can't believe that it took me so long to identify them as a weakness of mine, but now that I have a better understanding of how they move and how best to approach them - it's been a game changer! (..now all I have to worry about is the general level of competence of my teammates! Haha!)
It's true what you guys are saying about Drizzler's and Flyfish above...because they're generally pretty tough to defeat all by yourself (especially if you have regular Salmonids to deal with as well) they can kind of overwhelm you if the team isn't careful!
I'd also throw Steelhead's in to the mix as well - not that they're overly difficult to get rid of or anything - I just seem to fairly regularly come across teammates who just seem to totally ignore them...and if you find yourselves in a situation where 4 or 5 of them are spawned simultaneously (particularly in a confined space) it's pretty much game over! ..all good fun though!
Couple tips for dealing with Steelhead gangs: if you have two Steelheads next to each other and you wait for them to both be vulnerable, you can kill one and the explosion will take out the other. A well-timed Splashdown will also take out nearby Steelheads, which can be a good option if there are a bunch of other Salmonids around. It's effective on Stingers in a pinch, too. (In general it's a good idea to use your specials proactively when they'll be particularly effective, instead of waiting until your team is almost wiped out.)
As for Drizzlers, they aim their missiles towards the nearest Inkling; knowing this can help you deflect them back for a quick kill. If you're not in a position to do that, you can also try and trick the Drizzler into firing towards the ocean.
@Caldorosso-E I do know about it but it's rather hard to pull off sometimes with teammates doing whatever and the entire area being well, a battlefield. I have a feeling most peeps don't even know you can shoot its balloon down at all lol.
Booyah! Completed my Ninja/Sub Saver/Ink Recovery/Special Power set!
...and a Bomb Defence alternate set too! (..'cos I had a ton of spare Bomb Defence chunks!)
I'm still working on a few other Ninja Squid tops to give me some additional options (should be able to add Run Speed, Ink Saver Main, Ink Recovery and Sub Power Up versions before too long! ..and I recently got some Ink Recovery Punk Cherries that look totally FRESH, so I'll probably switch to those shoes at some point!) ..but I'm pretty pleased that I've finally managed to grind out this gear at least - and having the ability to spam Curling Bombs was really working a treat in Rainmaker earlier! ..it's great when a plan comes together!
@NaviAndMii That's a nice set! I'm building something similar right now, only focusing on Swim Speed and Special Saver, with Ninja Squid too. I like to call it the 'coward set', since I plan to use it with mid-to-long-range weapons.
Kinda feels like Ninja Squid is underrated. I rarely see it, and it's hilarious to use with a blaster for hit-and-run tactics.
@NaviAndMii Looking fresh there, mate - and with great abilities to boot! Myself, I‘ve got at least one gear with every ability as Main I know I‘ll use, most of the time two and sometimes even three. This accumulates to 17 headgear, 15 bodygear and 14 pairs of shoes. I‘ve really come to love the ability to mix different gear sets together depending on the weapon and its sub and special. Technically, I‘m done with the whole gear building stuff but there‘s still some fresh looking gear out there, I‘m just dying to wear into battle (like that Forge Inkling Parka, I‘m planning on perfecting with three sub Run Speed Ups. A good alternative to my Moist Ghillie Helmet, also perfected with Run Speed Up.).

Speaking of, it finally uploaded. Don't know what took it so damn long (I do actually, I'll get to that).
Session 1 of the NL Inklings getting...kinda blown back because half of us haven't played Clam Blitz and MakoMart sucks... @Zyrac@shani@Spanjard@Nicolai
And if anyone wonders about ads, two separate claims from Nintendo on this one, hence the upload delay.
Now Playing: Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Crash Bandicoot 4
@MarcelRguez Thanks Yeah, I've seen elsewhere that Ninja Squid is apparently a good choice for mid-long range weapons I'm loving my Dualies at the moment - with the barrel roll and generally sneaky approach that this outfit allows me, I feel like a proper Ninja! - but I'll definitely look to try it out (or a slightly adapted set) with a decent Charger or something at some point! Would be great to have a tailored outfit for a completely different weapon type so that I can mix things up a bit As an ability, Ninja Squid just seems to suit my (cowardly, lol) style of play down to the ground - so it'll probably be a staple of my outfits from here on out!
@GoldenGamer88 Thanks very much! Wow! You have so many options compared to me! Haha! All I have so far is a 'Special set' (full Special Charge Up, full Special Saver and full Special Power Up) and the two above - but I should be able to add a few more Ninja-themed outfits pretty soon I'm gonna give the grind a break for a bit and dip back in to Ranked I think (haven't played those modes in ages!) and just hope that I can pick up the remaining chunks I need in Salmon Run...just feels sooooo good to finally have a couple of outfits that I'm comfortable with!
Anyone noticing that there is an increase in "dead players" in the sense that they join a battle and don't move or participate? It's killing my ratings...
@Zyrac Thanks, mate! Would'be grand if we got two more Inklings to join us. Maybe @NaviAndMii, would you happen to have time?
Aww Sunday's aren't great for me unfortunately - if we had a regular thing around that kind of time on a weekday I'd usually be free though if anyone would be up for that?? (..is it League you guys are playing? ..would I have to get my ranks up a bit, or doesn't it matter?)
