Anyone get this? Picked it up and beat it over the weekend. While fun, it's heavily marred by game-breaking glitches and frequent (long) loading times. For example, there's a known bug with a quest that causes the game to freeze. As if that wasn't bad enough, many are reporting this is corrupting save data.
Those interested might want to wait for a patch. The game's current build is pretty poor.
This is the main game I have going on the Switch at the moment. I absolutely loved The Stick of Truth and similarly this game doesn't disappoint.
Very true about the glitches though. Many a time I've had character actions come to a stop, unsure of whether it's intended as a joke or if it's actually the game loading. And I'd totally be bothered by the battle loading screens if battles were any more frequent =/
As much as I love the Switch and the ability to play on the go - this is one third party game I'd probably recommend getting on PC/PS4 for £10 instead.
@Buizel My encounters with glitches have been fairly minimal outside running into the known quest freeze. I've had the game freeze while loading battles a couple times, and, strangely, my character was turned black and outfitted with the starting SoT costume. Not only that, but all progress was wiped away as if I just started the game. Fortunately, reverting to the last autosave remedied this, though I understand this is one of the other instances that can corrupt your save file.
I'm glad you brought up the price point. It's certainly worth mentioning. $90 (w/ DLC) for an old broken game is pretty steep. Again, there's a good game here. The performance, however, leaves more than a bit to be desired.
sounds like it should have been delayed abit. (but thats just me.)
i may wait for the patch that I've been hearing. than i'll see on getting it for switch or on any other consoles.

^ Yep! If you're sold on the Switch version, probably better to wait for a patch. I've seen posts from very angry people complaining about corrupted save data and being forced to start the game over.

I’m having trouble getting past the blind justice mission the guard and his dogs by that Mansion was hard enough to deal with then 2 more guards show up and yeah... game over. Is there any easy way of taking out the guards and dogs quickly?
I just bought the game because Best Buy has the game $20 off. Should arrive in the mail by Tuesday. I hope I don't encounter any of the bugs. I could've just as easily got the game on Windows, but I want to have the flexibility of playing in handheld mode.

@MeatSauce You know, I was wondering the same thing just last night. It's been patched! If you're anything like me, you're probably going to find the quest disappointingly short after all this time. Have fun, man!
@JTMnM Thanks for the info I haven’t heard anything on the game since the bugs where discovered I kinda got hooked to this game at launch and it was the only game I was playing but I got the bugs and my save data was gone.I look forward to getting back into this and messing around with the dlc but I’ve got a significant backlog and The crash trilogy,wolfenstein,Octopath and mega man x all preordered.
I just realised the game is 17,3 GB when downloading it from the eShop.
Since there are 16GB and 32GB cartridges and nothing in between I wonder if this comes on a 32GB cartridge or a 16GB cartridge with an extra download?
Does anybody know?
Anyway, similar to another Ubisoft game (Mario + Rabbids), South Park also gets a Gold Edition, and if M+R is anything to go by, the Gold Edition will include all the DLC and updates and bugfixes, so I'll probably be much better off waiting for that one.
@SKTTR : The file size in the eShop is updated to reflect any software updates, so it is not always an accurate reflection of the size of the ROM that is included in the cartridge version.
The cartridge itself is about 14GB, but the software patch was about 3.1GB (the last I checked).
So, the game is definitely on a 16GB cartridge, and Ubisoft, being appallingly bad with optimisation, have imposed a fairly massive download for a few "bug fixes".
Has anyone got past the Ultra challenge with the clones and ninjas?
I keep getting stuck as when you defeat someone the rest of the enemies gets stronger but as they create clones all the time they get impossibly stronger the longer the fight goes on. I've tried using chill to stop them from cloning in the first place but it's Tweak, Dead Kenny and myself (as well as my time clone) who can only use it. HELP?
As we are getting Stick of Truth does that mean we might be getting a physical Gold Edition of Fractured But Whole as the PS4 and Xbox have them and it includes Stick of Truth.
