As a long time Sonic fan I pretty excited. Can't believe we're seeing Mighty and Ray for the first time in twenty years. I'm even tempted to go physical despite having a fully digital collection.
I think it’s cool that Mania is getting that update with that physical release and all that extra stuff for only $30.00. I kinda wanted DLC levels, but Ray and Mighty have been shoved under the rug (minus a few references here and there) long enough, so that’s better than nothing at all. My only question is if it’s going to be a free update to those of us who already own the game, but I would think that it’s going to be free.
@subpopz The yellow one is Ray the Flying Squirrel, who only appeared as a playable character in SegaSonic The Hedgehog (A arcade game), and a Minor cameo in Generations.
I waited out for a physical release of mania, which I knew would happen eventually (and thankfully happened). Bought the statue without the game, as that was the only thing I really wanted from the collector's edition (came in the Switch version box, which will fit with the copy of the game i'll get).
......Oh YEEah, wouldn't be a @SheldonRandoms comment without Ristar, s0o0o0o0o0 Hopefully Ristar somehow revs into Sonic Mania Plus, they must, PLZ! PLZ! PLZ! Ristar would literally fit in with this style, he's already classic enough, plus he would break my leg from said cuteness in the animated shorts.
I made Sheldon & Mr. Randoms back on Flipnote Hatena, now i'm a kangaroo mod that has a funko pop collection!
I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!
Enter all the comments of people who bought digitally and wished they knew then.
Myself included.
I would assume the digital gets the update.
Who is the yellow character? The other one is Mighty the Armadillo from Knuckles Chaotix.
In the same boat as you but I liked the statue so I bought it though.
I don't know what this "encore mode" will bebut I don't really need more characters nor 4 player mode. This is nice for those who are interested in other characters, but I would prefer more stages, expecially from the first game.
Sonic mania is great but a remake of Sonic 1 would be fantastic.
The animated series looks very good!
I used to be a ripple user like you, then I took The Arrow in the knee
For someone who was never into Sonic much (aside from playing a demo of Sonic 3 & Knuckles as a kid) would you recommend going straight into Mania or playing old Sonic titles first? Most of them are on Steam for little money and AGES is going to bring them to Switch as well.
@SmaggTheSmug It definitely wouldn’t hurt to play Mania first. There are a lot of old zones in Mania, but it’s not like your missing out on any lore or anything like that. It might be hard to go back to older games, Mania adds a lot to the series. But if your not worried about that, totally play Mania first it’s my favorite 2D Sonic game.
Just a geek that likes video games, and spends to much time playing Smash Bros. and Fortnite.

Knuckles will eventually probably make a come back sometime in the future. As to buying it since it is a first for NS in physical edition I would say get it and enjoy the Sonic force. But the final choice is up to you to make-we only give our experiences/views that last choice is yours.
