Reggie said we've only seen one solution to how to make voice chat work on the Nintendo Switch. But we've been in the dark about how this all could work.

These are some of my thoughts on this issue:

Using a 1/8 inch male to lightning cable can get the audio from the switch into the iPhone. From there it should be possible to mix audio with a chat stream within an app. This type of multi-channel mixing is very common in pro-audio apps, and even is seen to a limited degree in games like Hearthstone that will mix your music tracks with in-game audio. This audio should be able to be connected to a Bluetooth headset with mic.

So, the switch would be cabled to a phone, perhaps strapped together in a special case, or just in your pocket on on your arm with an armband. From there everything could be Bluetooth out of the phone. Only issue is how much latency, which should be mostly related to Bluetooth.

I'm anxious to see how it works out and if Nintendo have their own accessory for it.
