@dtjive That's the -one- good thing that I can see from this payment plan. It'll pretty much force them to include more online play for more of their games, to give the service value.

Careful what you wish for, I foresee "Tri Force Heroes: Dress 2 Impress" and "Federation Force 2: That's Right, NO MORE METROID EVER AGAIN" coming!
At the current rumored price, maybe it'll be worth paying for, both with more online games and an overall better online service. If it costed the same amount as the PS4's online does, though, it would be a bit of a problem. I can pay 70 bucks CAD per year for one console, but paying that much for two would be a no no.
Hey triforce heroes was very good fun, I wouldn't mind a sequel at all. Federation Force 2 would also be great provided we get confirmation of a 2D or 3D Metroid coming eventually.

I honestly thought it was a very poor when compared to 4 Swords. The solo controls are terrible (especially when they has controls that worked in 4S), fiddly local player and a lot of lag for on-line play as well as trouble finding players. On the rare occasion on-line went well it was fairly solid albeit not great.
The only real problem it had for me was just the nature of the game. Puzzle games will only be fun if everyone involved is just as clueless as you. Otherwise it becomes 1 or 2 people shoving the first timer down the path. But the game itself was very fun and a cool experiment.
I don't mind paying around $30 for online features if they're good. What surprises me is that they're offering less online features than WiiU had for free (e.g. Miiverse), and still expect me to be willing to pay for it.
They might (hopefully) still be hiding stuff or plan on adding additional features, but right now it's a really lousy deal IMO.
Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again

@19Robb92 Hence why the online is free on arrival...
Sure..However, all Nintendo have said to justify the payment is that 'servers cost money', not 'we want to offer a better online experience'. So, until I see more I'm assuming we'll be paying for what is essentially what we got for free on WiiU +plus a monthly SNES rental.

Agreed. It was fun playing with friends when we were all equally clueless. It was still fun running through after completion, trying to help random people online while not being too pushy at the same time...
The problem is everything is just speculation at this point. The service may not add anything to the Wii U experience or it may be vastly improved. As the switch is still 3 weeks away we just have to wait and see. I don't have an issue paying for online. We live in a capitalist society where everything cost money. We Nintendo fans have had it good for a while but now they are aligning themselves with the competition. The "Online is free on PC" argument is not really valid because it would be next to impossible to charge PC gamers. They would simply set up there own servers and circumnavigate the pay wall. Fingers crossed the Nintendo online service will be fantastic if not then they'll lose a lot of ground on the competition. Exciting isn't it?
@Mellor2000 Yeah can't wait to make A LOT of team battles with NL buddies on Splatoon 2, or having some kind of party chat while racing on MK8D, or just chatting while playing Xeno 2 or SMO!!!!!!!
I get why a lot of people are upset over the fact we will now be paying for online services. But we don't know how good these servers and services being offered will be compared to the Wii U.
Same thing happened with Sony, people were at first outraged because the PS3 was free. It also had terrible online servers, but that all quickly died out when people realised how much improved the PS4 online...... oh wait.
Look at how much Sony makes in online subscriptions alone. It's more than Nintendo makes as a whole company. I bet Nintendo saw that and realised very quickly they need to start doing the same.

From my standpoint, because all of this started when Kimishima-san started to ride Nintendo

@Mellor2000 I thought about this in the last 10 days maybe When we will know how the online thing will work i would like to create a topic in the proper section where we can make a list of people, so we can add each other on the Switch and start voice chatting and playing all together!!!!!
