When you go to your Switch's data management how much space is available?

And what's the file size of the game you're attempting to download?

Get a card read and see if it can see the microSD also as mentioned check our card capacity before downloading.

@Magician there is still a lot of storage. On switch there's 12gb and SD 50gb

@Ericsetiawannn If something won't download, and appears paused, I wouldn't assume it's a problem with your micro sd card. Sometimes things don't download to the switch immediately; You will get the download status bar, but nothing is happens. Either something else on the Switch is updating (and it's not visible), or Nintendo's server has lots of traffic. This happens sometimes, especially when a big game just releases on the eshop. On extremely rare occasions the server is down. It's almost never down. But the server was down they day you made this thread, actually. (if it is server traffic related, I put my Switch to sleep and come back later, or in the morning. Switch downloads new games while sleepig & docked)

You said you just bought the micro sd card. Sometimes new micro sd cards need to be formatted in order for them to work in the Switch.

Worst case scenario: If your card worked at first, but now doesn't work, I wonder if your micro sd card got corrupted. Did you remove the micro sd card while the Switch was on or sleeping? Doing that could potentially corrupt a card. The Switch has to be off to take out or insert the micro sd card. If your card has been corrupted, I think the only way to remedy that is to reformat your card, which wipes the card (deleting everything). So, only do that as a last resort.

If you're stuck, and don't want to reformat your card, you could try calling Nintendo customer support

@Ericsetiawannn usually a new microSD will need to be formatted and the Switch will tell you that before you can use it.

Close suspended software, it uses the connection so it cannot download.

@Woomy_NNYes i already tested my SD card, it's not corrupted and still readable. Btw thanks for the solution. it's helped a lot.

@Ericsetiawannn You're welcome. Any time.

I had a thought. You could try downloading a demo(since they are free), to test your card. Pixel art games are small files, so they download quick.

Actually, I think getting a download status bar probably confirms your card works, even if it's paused & not filling up. If your card didn't work, I think you'd get an error. I think getting the download status bar means the Switch it's ready for the download, but it's waiting for the server, or waiting for something else to finish updating. This happened to me the other day.

Well since NIN didn't make that sd card did you contact the manufacture about this issue? So is the make of the sd card? This is a sd card support issue to resolve and fix. Sounds like this was a cheap QC sd card that is now failing.

That sounds really freaky if you ask me.

I'm having similar issues with a SanDisk 256. I get the download error code (corrupt data) when trying to download games from the eshop or redownload previously purchased games. It will work for awhile, then just go corrupt. I've reformatted it (at least 20 times) and this usually works for awhile. Right now, I can get everything to download except for Bioshock Infinite. Even if the card is wiped clean, that game causes an error. I'm at a loss. I could try another SD card, but I would hate to buy one just to test it out.

@TicTacTecmoBowl Did you try this troubleshooting? See pasted link. They mention trying another micro sd card. If you've done this, you can disregard. Searching "corrupt data" on nintendo support got me to this page:

https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a...

Toward the bottom it says

If the error persists with multiple supported microSD cards, or when downloading directly to the system memory, the Nintendo Switch console will need to be repaired.

Please contact us for support.

@WoomyNNYes Thanks! I'm going to walk though the support you shared. Hopefully I won't have to send it in to be prepared. Of course it is a Gen 1 system, so I could see it needing repairs.

@WoomyNNYes So I initially called Nintendo support and they wanted me to move my router and hardwire my switch dock. I did both, but neither helped the issue. I then tried to download directly to the Switch, then transfer to the card. this resulted in an error, confirming that the card must be the problem. I had tried another card earlier, but I don't think it worked due to storage limits on it. Anyway, I ended up buying a new card and haven't had any issues since. My original SD card was from 3 years ago so I was able to get a newer model. Thanks for the suggestions and hopefully this won't happen again!

I just got my Switch back from being repaired today(6/29/2021). Before I put it in the dock without thinking(like checking if the Switch was in sleep mode)I went to check if the 128 GB micro SD card I put in the console from the start was still in & it was. Just as I was prepping it to receive my user data had to perform a system update to allow microSD mxc then after the update I got a message saying the micro SD card's data was corrupted. I do not want to lose all that hard work I did(such as progress in ARMS(all the Party Crash Badges, ARMS, and difficult achievements I did), CTR Nitro-Fueled(all Champion decals I unlocked, Story mode platinum relics I collected, Character skins), and Smash Ultimate to name a few)and all the captures I took. Please I would like to know how to resolve this issue.
