Interesting thing about the artwork is both Yoshi and Rabbid Yoshi using non-fitting weapons: Yoshi's is Donkey Kong-themed with barrels and bananas, and Rabbid Yoshi's is Jr.-themed.

@Operative2-0 Yep,I noticed earlier in the NL article about this that 2 of LKD's and Emily Rodgers resident naysayers are still dismissing them as frauds. They always fall back on the same excuse that they were wrong with Mother 3 and a playable female Link. Everything else they predicted could come true but until those 2 come to fruition, they will always be "frauds" to them. The thing is,Aunoma I'm sure it was said a female Link was considered at one point so there was probably some truth to that rumour as well.
Okay, what the heck is all this? At least now we know why Ubisoft have been quiet about it — Nintendo doesn't want this lame game shown within ten leagues of launch! I wouldn't be surprised if it skipped their E3 presentation, though it'll probably be in there for 60 seconds or so.
But seriously, there are so many wrongheaded things about this game;
Why does this look more generic than Mario & Sonic at the Morally Bankrupt International Sports Event games?
If the tone is like this, why it it turn-based and why does it have 'Kingdom' in the title?
Why is it an RPG?
If it is an RPG, why wasn't it made in UbiArt when all the other Mario RPGs have been at least partially 2D?
Why are there Rabbids in it?
Why are the Rabbids dressing as the already present NSMB cast?
Why does the Peach Rabbid have a smart phone? Why is she taking a selfie?
Why would you put an arm canon on Mario and put that on the box art when half or more of your audience is still salty about not having a new Metroid game?
I'm sure the original rumour said the HD rumble is used in clever ways, giving the impression Rabbid's have infected the console.Or something along those lines anyway.
@Haru17 Because Nintendo needs an outlet for their inner troll. And the inner troll knows that Rabbids, smartphones, modern trends, and Mario having a gun are things we fans hate having in Nintendo canon; that and teasing ideas like Mario RPG and the kind of Metroid it knows we want.
The thing is, they can't fire their troll, because that would be discrimination.
@TheLZdragon Probably the most wrong thing she got was miiverse returning, with the others being mainly time-based. Yeah she got the timing of the release for rabbids, wrong. Though considering how ridiculously accurate she's been for many other things, I find it hilarious that people think she just made everything up for fun. At the very least the things she got right are noteworthy enough to earn peoples' attention when she hears things in the future.
Anyone remember the part of the leak about there being a new form of Bowser based on the Rabbids? Now I really wonder what Rabbid Bowser will look like. Ludicrous, terrifying, or both?
Rabbids — Rayman's Raving Rabbids (2006)
Minions — Despicable Me (2010)
Cat Bowser — Super Mario 3D World (2013)
More Minions — Minions (2015)
Rabbid Bowser — Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle (2017)
Hat Bowser — Super Mario Odyssey (2017)
Fear is a choice. I've laid out this timeline for you all because this is murder.
Rabbid hate is strange. The lower quality of most their games comes from being a byproduct of the casual party Wii era. It is also ironic because the entire reason they're so insane and deranged was that they were constantly abused when they were mostly just naive. Now people dislike and bash them even more, which just makes them even more nuts, and so on. It's a vicious cycle. Probably the way this crossover would work is that the Mario cast are the first and only people to EVER treat the Rabbids decently.

There are many things people hate that I don't fully get.
Rabbids are not one of them. Unless you've somehow avoided the eleventy billion internet complaints about Minions, the fact that Rabbids are hated is DEEPLY unsurprising. They are exactly the type of characters people love to hate.
This has got the potential to be absolutely brilliant or absolutely woeful.
Looks like Ubisoft are trying something different too, which I can half-heartedly commend them for!
Still, it is a little bit disappointing that all the Switch is getting from Ubisoft this year are Just Dance, Monopoly (steady on...), Rayman Legends (again), Steep and Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. Oh well...
