So I finally decided to 'double dip' and get Rocket League for my Switch! I never seem to play my PS4 anymore - and the idea of having it 'on the go' was just too mouthwatering a prospect to resist any longer! ..especially since I had a few pounds left in my wallet from an old gift card & it's currently discounted 25% in the UK eShop! ..and I must say, it seems to be a mighty fine port!
After a quick practice in the open training area, I threw myself in to an online 3v3 and, from there, fell in to the familiar trap of playing it for a good hour longer than I had expected to! ..I'm rusty - very rusty - but having this game on my 'go to' console, to play whenever and wherever I like, just has me grinning from ear to ear! Awesomeness!
Did they change some of the stages? It's been quite a while since I played the PS4 version - but all of the (standard) arenas feel so flat now! ..the Wasteland stage used to be slanted at the edges - and Neo Tokyo used to have elevated side sections - did they just level them all out or something?
Seems like a bit of a shame - I used to like the differences in terrain elevation and how you'd have to adapt your game accordingly - just seems to have taken some of the character away...
(Zero regrets with my purchase though! ..just curious!)

I think they just have altered versions, with the originals still in there.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
@NaviAndMii No prob, give Dropshot, Hoops, and Snow Day some love too. All fun modes that are great for casual play on Switch. Honestly, they are more fulfilling to me than Soccar, which feels like babysitting randoms much of the time...
Snow Day should be the default mode for beginners, it's great. And dropshot is the best, period.
@ACK Yeah, I love a bit of Snow Day - and I've really enjoyed what I've played of Dropshot and Rumble so far!
@Joeynator3000 I was playing 3v3 and 4v4 standard casual matches last night and none of the 'old' style maps were coming up - just the flat, characterless, new versions (?)
@Joeynator3000 According to the 1.37 update (Sep 2017) patch notes, a few maps were redesigned as standard arenas with the old variants being renamed and resigned to Rumble, Private, and offline matches. Rocket Labs, I believe, has "VR" versions of each and more.
I'm pretty sure you will not encounter them in any of the Standard playlists, unfortunately... I say add them back to Chaos, at least.
...I just played it a week or so ago, though...I encountered that Tokyo arena with the ledges during a normal game. Maybe you can play them offline only or something?

@Joeynator3000 I mean, I said the non-standard versions are all available in Rumble playlists as well as private and offline matches.
According to patch notes history, as of May, 2017 the old Neo Tokyo was renamed Tokyo Underpass and removed from online playlists to be replaced by a standard arena. As of Sep. 2017, it and others (like Badlands, former version of Wastelands) were added to the Rumble playlists.
However, I've only played since the Switch release, so this is all from some quick research.
My names Mitch B! I am 19 and from the east coast. I am looking for a 2's partner for Rocket League! I was plat 1 on xbox, but have no one decent to play with on switch. I am Gold 2 currently on switch. So be around there! Be able to use discord so we can voice chat! If anyone is interested, add me!

At least the Neo Tokyo stage has had it's elevated side sections removed, indeed. The map got so much hate due to those edges that Psyonix gave in and removed them.
I can see why, as they more often than not ruined and destroyed the flow of gameplay with the player helplessly flying through the air for ten seconds, but on the other hand they also caused many crazy goals that are unfortunately no longer possible to make. It's just that the bad outweighed the good.
@Sculptor I can't believe that! People complained (no doubt because they were struggling to master it) so Psyonix just levelled it and turned it in to another characterless dome instead?? Wow! I much prefer the original layout - those elevated side sections were what made the arena different/interesting!
