Well yeah, they're by no means bad games. They're just a bit too un-resident evil for the fans of the series, but they're perfectly entertaining on their own.
And with motion aiming, I may finally get around to beating them!
@NintendoByNature yes they used a really nifty little system. So don't be discouraged of you die repeatedly, the game will adjust things around, and chances are you'll also get naturally better with each try as well.
@StableInvadeel I'll take it. Admittedly, I've never played an re with gyro. Might try it on one of these.
What??!! Gird up those loins cause you’re for a wild ride!
One of my favorite past times is playing Resident Evil with gyro. My first RE-gyro experience was Revelations on the 3DS way back in like 2012. Some time around then. I’d played a bit of RE4 with IR aiming but not enough to see the true appeal. Been a chronic fan ever since Revelations though. The problem is, my drug of choice has been in rare supply. Or at least it was, until the Switch released.
Now we’re up to our eyeballs in RE with gyro. On Switch alone, we have no less than four Resident Evil titles with not just gyro, but full motion gestures. Revelations 1 and 2 allows you to do a reloading animation which is actually pretty well done and, I think it adds fun to the experience. I believe you can also stab with your knife by shaking the joy con in a stabbing motion. And now in RE5 and RE6 you have gyro aiming plus the stabbing gesture for the knife. But wait... there’s more! The gyro even works when holding L to stab with the knife, so you can actually aim your melee attacks using gyro too, completely separate from the action gesture to stab!
And I have to say the Gyro in these new releases is incredibly well done. Honest to goodness some of the best gyro of any game I’ve played. Not everyone gets it perfect. But the gyro in RE5/6 is ultra smooth with zero jitter and a perfect 1:1 response. It’s muah! Perfecto!
Btw, RE4 is brutal imo. I can’t even get past the first little sequence

@JaxonH so i played re4 for a good 5 hours at this point with no gyro obviously and getting head shots is rather tough. The only time I can truly get them is with the rifle and scope. It's actually my favorite part of the Game picking off enemies from a distance and getting a head shot every time. Considering I play solo, I might only go with re6 next. I liked the demo of 5, but I won't have anyone to play with and I'd rather not be stuck with bad AI
@NintendoByNature
Honestly the AI has been great so far in RE5. Shes been taking out enemies nice and proper for me. I mean, she isnt so good you can just stand there, but she holds her own and contributes just as much as I do. Even heals me sometimes when I need it.

I assume the AI has been a bit tweaked in re-releases, but in the original RE 5 release the AI partner was bad; if you give them the sniperrifle they will just pick off enemies from a distance.
@JaxonH I need to stop discussing games with you, you always talk me into buying more 😜. But in all seriousness, if it's actually pretty decent, I'll prob buy it once it hits A sale.
@Sadist
Is that good or bad? If they are picking off enemies from a distance that sounds like it’s really competent AI. Unless you’re saying you don’t want them to do that and you want them to allow the enemies to get closer first. I did notice my AI partner shot a few enemies through the window when they were still a ways off, but I was doing the same thing. Was like heck ya, go you. Get those shots in girl 😁

Sorry, was not very clear; I played the game first on PC and well, playing as Chris I shot Sheva a few times because she would walk in front of me while sniping for instance. Dang girl, why?
If you gave her the sniper rifle it became better though. She wouldn’t run in front of you.
Hey guys, Either looking at re5 or 6. Regarding AI specifically, I know Jaxon said 5's ai isn't that bad but im hoping for more feedback. I will play either one solo so please let me know your thoughts.
@Eel thanks, i know youre on vaca but you're a day late, and I'm $20 short 😂. I grabbed 5 this morning. I'm sure itll be manageable though.. at least I'm hoping
