This thought has been going around my head for a few days now.

Since the Halo, Banjo, etc skin packs for Minecraft were announced and the cross platform multiplayer stuff going on it seems like the relationship between Microsoft and Nintendo is growing stronger.

Which has made me dream up the idea of Phil Spencer coming out on stage at E3 2018 to make an announcement of a partnership of some sort between the 2. One of the games would be a Switch port of Rare Replay.

Every single Switch owner (some of whom might already own an Xbox One) would happily fork out for some of the best games ever made.

Am I dreaming too much or would Mr. Pants on the Switch be the greatest thing ever?

A little bit of a Project Dream, don‘t you think? But IF it were to happen, I‘d drive to Spencer‘s place, break in and kiss his feet until he‘d inevitably throw me out. The mere idea of having Banjo-Kazooie and Viva Piñata, two of my favorite titles of all time on Switch, gives me goosebumps. I wouldn‘t hold my breath, though. But hey, Xbox‘s also giving away its few exclusives in a subscription service so anything could happen.

I like Banjo. I'm not a fan of Rare games and I think Banjo's games could have been better if made by somebody else (Retro Studios for example ) but I would enjoy them anyway. It would be fun to play them even if I think they are very flawed they still scratch "their own" itch lol

I used to be a ripple user like you, then I took The Arrow in the knee

Rare Replay is one of my few justifications for having an XBO now that I have a more powerful gaming PC. If this happened I might never play the thing.

Having said that, I really do hope that Replay comes to the Switch. Conker on the go would be great. And what if Nintendo have us Diddy Kong Racing, the DKC series and Starfox Adventures to complement it? A man can dream...

Currently playing: South Park: The Fractured But Hole (Switch), Battle Chef Brigade (Switch), Hyrule Warriors (Switch), Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice (PC).
Replaying: DKC Tropical Freeze (Switch), Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch).

Oh yeah Rare Replay... kinda forgot about it lol. Yeah a Switch port would be great to have, and Microsoft seems to not want to market it much anyways, so easy sales off nostalgia. Would be a great idea, but I doubt it would happen.

People might think I'm childish for my picture, and I am.
Favorite games: Super Mario Odyssey, Super Metroid, Mass Effect 2, Red Dead Redemption, and Sonic Generations
If you like Kirby, then you are a person I can trust.

Just give me a Viva Piñata collection. That's enough, really.

Yeah I don’t know either.

@Meowpheel The first one‘s the only good one, imo. The DS one can‘t hold a candle to the Xbox versions and Trouble in Paradise ruins creative freedom with introducing snow and sand as terrain Piñatas from the Arctic and the Desert need. I know you technically don‘t need them but without them, there‘s really not that much different. A few new things here and there but these Special Piñatas are pretty much the main attraction. Plus, it always looked a bit more sterilized and less naturally chaotic to me.

I actually think the DS game is a great game. It could have easily been a cheap cash in based on the cartoon... But they instead made it a fully functional and featured interpretation of the console game.

It has clear goals, removes the annoying (and unnecessary) dating mazes, and includes most of the content in the first game (plus some new piñatas from the sequel)

Never played Trouble in Paradise, so I can't defend that one.

I've always wanted to play Banjo-Kazooie (and Blast Corps actually) but never owned a N64 or Xbox One, so yeah I'd buy it. Microsoft did say something about being open to the idea of their games appearing on other systems after all.

Have Rare Replay on Xbox One and yeah its good being able to replay the N64 classics on modern hardware but everything else on there didn't really do it for me.

I can see Microsoft allowing Perfect Dark, Banjo and Blast Corps on to a Switch VC as there not system selling brands for them and getting the brands out there on the hot topic Switch might help them turn that around

Currently Playing:

Switch: Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Doom and Arms.

WiiU: Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival and Mario Party 10.

N64: Donkey Kong 64 and Jet Force Gemini.

Xbox One: Battlefield 1 and Ghost Recon: Wildlands.

Microsoft is currently trying to do everything it can to pump up the Xbone in face of it's continued struggle against the superior PS4. I highly doubt they would be willing to allow one of their studios to release games on another platform. Minecraft is a special case because it wasn't originally theirs and buying it, and making it exclusive would have killed it.

@Heavyarms55 Trying is the keyword here. I'm still thinking XBox may go the way of the Dreamcast, but even if that does end up happening it'll probably be a couple years before we start seeing their stuff on other consoles
