@Lalivero Ohhh, it comes with a cardboard outer sleeve too? I'm SOO glad I switched to physical after seeing this picture. It's a game I'd like digitally, but it's just too cool a package to not have in my Switch box collection. I still have my GameBoy Tetris cart (no box, it was a DMG pack-in)...I kind of needed this physical for Tetris' triumphant return to cartridge format.

Lalivero

@NEStalgia Yeah! I was gonna say it reminded me of the Gameboy games packaging days.

@Hinaru77 isn't this still technically the launch window?

Oh gosh yes. I've seen people interpret "launch window" as the first half-year of a system's life.

Hinaru77

@faint as launch window. I meant tide in to Zelda Botw. Meaning. March 3rd

So the physical version only comes in the collectors pack with the key rings? I've got it preordered in the UK but I can't see anything in the description about any extras.

Where from?

@mav-i-am No I know but if you prepaid you got a fiver off and I've still got £90 of store credit to get through. Itd better be the collectors edition!

Anyone here been able to beat Risukuma (the science bear) reliably? I keep getting beaten from his crazy combos.

My wife and I are having a great time together with it. I'm a bit better at Puyo (thanks Robotnik) but she's got me at Tetris.
This morning though, I thought I'd try a quick round of Endless Puyo....well...let's just say it was not quick...I was therr quite some time before I decided I was just done with it and quit...here are the results.

@Grumblevolcano "Anyone here been able to beat Risukuma (the science bear) "

And this is why we love Nintendo games (and Sega games), and the rest of the mainstream public does not.

Loving this game so far, and though I want it digitally on my system I'm so glad I got physical. It's great having the packaging and a tetris cart.

Of all the games I pointed and laughed at at launch pre-orders, I can't believe I bought and love it. The story mode is great. It's absurd, makes no sense, and feels ridiculously shoehorned to a game that makes no sense with a story at all, and it's absolutely perfect that way! I was grinning from ear to ear with the sheer nonsensical insanity of the whole thing. It's even worse than Pokemon "We need to solve this argument with a TETRIS BATTLE!" It's like a Saturday Night Live skit. A bad one. With science bears! It's just beautiful....

@NEStalgia I would think Yu-Gi-Oh would be a better comparison. Pokemon can at least be considered a stand-in for traditional weapons, as the manga is more than willing to demonstrate. The former, as well as Puyo Puyo/Tetris, are literally just games (well, maybe there's something magic about them if Chronicles and Arle's profession are anything to go by).

Alone, a force. Together, a force of nature.

@meleebrawler Good point, but the nature of everyone's answer to every occurrence being "let's battle!" reaches similar levels of crazy in Pokemon and PPT.

NEStalgia

Lalivero

@NEStalgia That's what got me, like I mentioned before. The story is hilariously ridiculous (characters like O seal that deal even further with their random insertions into the conversation) that you tend to wonder how the heck it even works like it does.

Especially if you build your tower tall enough to spam Tetris after Tetris after Tetris.

"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"

Can you play just plain Tetris with this game, solo, not against the AI? Tried the demo but couldn't find a way to do this but it may just have been locked out?

I find the second game playing alongside a distraction and didn't enjoy my game ending prematurely because I can't keep up with the CPU player
