Topic: Purchase Limit Eshop switch

I am making some purchases of games
When i had 5 games left to purchase
Suddenly Nintendo Eshop wont let me
it display Error message you have reached the maximum money
you can add to your funds.

I have bank debit card and i have checked there is more than enough
money on the acount, still Nintendo wont take my money

I called Nintendo in europe and this is what they said
There is a limit of 200 euro of what you can purchase
every 24 hours on Eshop with bank card.
They asked me to wait until tomorow to buy more

Does this happen to everyone else
does nintendo limit purchase to 200 euro.
I was clicking now on one game that cost 15 euro
i clicked add exact amount to the nintendo eshop fund
and then got error message reached limit of how much i can add to fund.

I dont have a nintendo eshop card and live long away where they sell one
so i only have my card but nintendo make this limit on the purchase.

I never reached limit before but did not purchase for 200 euro
i think i purchased for like 196 euro then try to purchase 15 euro game
and it wont let me

Yeah, that's in USA as well. It's a type of security thing, no doubt. About the 196 you couldn't get past; 196+15=211, so since that would exceed the 200, it won't let you.

@Gilgamesh The limit is probably in place so that kids can't just take their parent's card and go absolutely wild. Also probably there to limit things if someone is using a stolen card.

There is no such limit on other console or eshop, i got aware of the limit yesterday
yep is 200 euro atleast in europe, I wonder if Japan has a limit there maybe higher.
I think the limit should be 300 euro.
Not that i buy so many games but had to catch up on some old games i wanted
So since i had the money i just wanted to buy all the games, now i had to delay purchase
the rest until limit disapear, which acording nintendo europe is 24 hours.

If this is a parent control i think as for us adult there should be
an option to turn off the limit.
as long you have the money should be able to buy it.
anyway now i know about it i have to wait 24 hours if purchase exceed 200 euro in total.

I also think that purchase with a eshop nintendo card that you buy in shop
cannot be used either since it add fund to nintendo
and is the add fund to nintendo that wont work until limit disapear
after 24 hours since fund is full until is emptyed
so litteraly nintendo close out custumbers for 24 hours
and not let them purchase cannot pay with paypal either since it also add to fund
is so silly.

hehe well atleast i was able to buy 12 games so i can play for a while

@Gilgamesh you should really contact Nintendo support as this is their control.

They already did... Then they were informed about the limit. It's in their first post.

@Gilgamesh I agree it could be a fuss if you're grabbing newer full retail games, cuz that'd only let me buy 3 a day at full price each. Glad you managed to get some titles under your belt though, and think of all the free 1/100s of euros you'll get back in points
