What do you mean? Like if you go from the middle all the way left or right? As that’s just it hitting the sides. If you mean as soon as you move it slightly it clicks, then no that’s not normal, maybe make a video showing it. It could be a bit of dust or something trapped around the ring, buys some compressed air and see if that clears it.
My new Splatoon Pro Controller does that from time to time, too, I think. Wouldn‘t call it annoying, though. Not as annoying as my old Splatoon Controller was. With the stick pushed all the way upwards, characters would walk at their normal speed, then walk slowly for a sec (in Splatoon, my Inkling would do a 'skip') and then return to normal speed. Maybe something‘s gotten beneath the plastic around the stick? Personally, wouldn‘t go and temper around with it with a toothpick or something like that. Might cause more harm than good if you ask me. I mean, it doesn‘t influence your gameplay, just a tad annoying.

Amazon are normally great with returns. It’s definitely not normal, not sure why Nintendo would say it is. No analogue stick should click like that.
Amazon have just set up a new order for a replacement with nothing to pay...
Feeling weird about it because there might not be anything wrong with the controller but on the other hand I paid a lot for it and the clicking is really hindering my enjoyment of it.
could check out the new one... really don't know what to do.
