I can't seem to work out if this is normal. They both make a very audible click when moved from their centre position.

Sent it to Nintendo but just got it back today saying no fault found.

Someone please shed some light. It's quite annoying

What do you mean? Like if you go from the middle all the way left or right? As that’s just it hitting the sides. If you mean as soon as you move it slightly it clicks, then no that’s not normal, maybe make a video showing it. It could be a bit of dust or something trapped around the ring, buys some compressed air and see if that clears it.

My new Splatoon Pro Controller does that from time to time, too, I think. Wouldn‘t call it annoying, though. Not as annoying as my old Splatoon Controller was. With the stick pushed all the way upwards, characters would walk at their normal speed, then walk slowly for a sec (in Splatoon, my Inkling would do a 'skip') and then return to normal speed. Maybe something‘s gotten beneath the plastic around the stick? Personally, wouldn‘t go and temper around with it with a toothpick or something like that. Might cause more harm than good if you ask me. I mean, it doesn‘t influence your gameplay, just a tad annoying.

Its the same as in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2yfAXf9LdY

Reading conflicting reports online regarding normality.. Nintendo offered to look at it again but I'd imagine they'd just reach the same conclusion.

Wondering if to contact Amazon

Amazon are normally great with returns. It’s definitely not normal, not sure why Nintendo would say it is. No analogue stick should click like that.

I just tested mine, and mine actually does the same thing. Never noticed until now.

Amazon have just set up a new order for a replacement with nothing to pay...

Feeling weird about it because there might not be anything wrong with the controller but on the other hand I paid a lot for it and the clicking is really hindering my enjoyment of it.

could check out the new one... really don't know what to do.
