So, the lack of a play log on Switch sucks, we all know that. But the Switch Parental Controls app, once installed on a smartphone, collects play time data from your Switch accounts and gives the average time per day your Switch was played across previous months.
So it's time to nerd out and post your numbers here. And if you're feeling devilish, why not add which was your most played game each month too
Me:
Sept. 2018 - 1hr 10mins - FIFA 18
Oct. 2018 - 1hr 55 mins - FIFA 18
Nov. 2018 - 0hrs 55 mins - Breath of the Wild
Dec. 2018 - 1hr 25mins - Rocket League
January is shaping up to be topped by Smash Bros, but I started playing FIFA and Dragon Quest Builders yesterday too, both of which are easy time hogs for me.
@MysticGengar I just got fed up with not being able to see how much time I'd put into a game/s so installed the app to check out its functionality. It doesn't seem totally accurate as it frequently over-records time spent on the Home screen, but it's the best we've got for now.
You guys had me at blood and semen.

@gcunit Oh that’s neat. Kinda like the email I’d get from XBL each month. If I set up the controls now, it probably won’t give me retroactive stats, will it?

@JackEatsSparrows No, if you install today then you can start tracking daily, but you won't get any monthly data until end of Jan, and only dating back to today.

The way this thread took off, I'm surprised no-one's been badgering me for my latest figures yet...
Well I'm not going to tease you any longer. Here are my updated figures:
Sept. 2018 - 1hr 10mins - FIFA 18
Oct. 2018 - 1hr 55 mins - FIFA 18
Nov. 2018 - 0hrs 55 mins - Breath of the Wild
Dec. 2018 - 1hr 25mins - Rocket League Jan. 2019 - 2hrs - Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
So a record month for me in terms of recorded figures. Would have been fair bit higher if I hadn't been so busy with work and family stuff in the last week or so, plus I started playing Yo-Kai Watch on my 3DS too; I had quite a few 3-4 hr days in the first 2 weeks. Not bad for an old codger.
So what are your numbers looking like?
No?
Anyone?

Does the parental control app also work for showing playtime from before you enabled the parental controls?
I am not gonna lie, it's totally pointless, but it annoys me so much that there is no playtime log on Switch. Because we know without question, that the Switch does keep track. It's one of those "not really necessary, but would be real nice to have" features that just should be there. Along with folders, and the ability to sort games alphabetically or by purchase date...

@gcunit Did you know the 'average time played' is only averaged over the days you play and not the full month? i.e. play 2 hours on Jan 1st, then nothing for the rest of the month = average time 2hrs.
@chardir that’s odd they would average it out like that. It would be different if it said this is the average play time for however many days were played in the month.
