So there's currently a rumor going around that games such as Mass Effect: Andromeda, Madden, and NBA Live', are among the games EA is developing for the Switch. This rumor is somewhat likely considering Mass Effect 3 was released on the Wii U, and was regared as a really good version of the game. Madden in my opinion was a given, and will hopefully bring some sports fans back to Nintendo. NBA Live is a bit of a wildcard, but could have some saled in the even NBA 2K isn't a first year game. Do you think there's any validity to this rumor?
I think that is down to the power of the hardware. If it is capable of running Andromeda than I think EA would port it faster that Sonic runs. However if the hardware can't cope Nintendo will be left in the dust.
I think EA will port a couple sports games like FIFA or Madden, wait and see if they sell well enough.
Don't expect anything more than that if they don't sell and I don't think sports games have a history of good sales on Nintendo's systems. I know I skip them every time. But if they brought stuff like Mirror's Edge or Unravel, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. They have to know the market and what ticks the Nintendo folk and they haven't shown that much discernment about it, unfortunately.

I have a feeling the hardware of Switch is something special. I don't think 3 Party companies would commit to another severely underpowered console. Unless of course they think the portability will be enough to sell consoles.

I mean they supported the Wii with Madden 7-12. So I think they had a sufficient market to sell their games to. Whether they can tap into the market again is the question.
Mass Effect might sell well on Switch if it comes remotely near the launch of the game on PS4/Xbox One.
My bet for support from EA is that they give us a shoddy port of Titanfall (1), don't advertise it at all and then claim "didn't sell **** platform, waste of time for 'real' games". Then trash Nintendo for the next five years.
@Nintendoforlife If the Switch sells like the Wii then yeah they will support it. However if it flounders like the Wii U then there won't be a reason fiancally for EA to support the Switch.
@Nintendoforlife Bioware has already confirmed Andromeda is not coming to Switch.
'Bioware' have not 'confirmed' that - Gamble only said, in October, that a Switch release wasn't currently planned, but that he couldn't speak for the future.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

GC's right. Mass Effect 3 came onto the Wii U and that came 8 months after release. It's plausible that 8 months after its release on other consoles it will come onto the Switch. Or sooner after all.
Wii U got the same promise. But no support. They released one game(forgot which)on Wii but no sport on Wii U. So it has nothing to do with power only numbers for profit.
So I don't expect any sports games until sales pass say 10 million and then only if it's done quick enough.
So Letts hope others do publish without waiting for hardware sales that won't happen without software.
Don't get me wrong. I hope and believe there Will be enough 3rd party software. But not EA and not quick but hopefully quick enough.

Pretty much. EA will test the water with FIFA and take it from there. If their best franchise doesn't make them much money, there isn't much chance anything else will. It's the perfect title to gauge exactly how many copies of any given game they could probably sell.
EA have always been the kind of company to go with the flow i.e. what's most popular. They didn't bother with the Dreamcast after the failed Saturn, were understandably hesitant to support the Wii U, dedicated to merely porting popular past titles, after most of their exclusive Wii releases sank.
Then there's that EA generally doesn't bother with handhelds, period, unless it's ports. I'm pretty sure they see the Switch as predominantly a.) a handheld and b.) a Nintendo console, where most people only buy Nintendo games.
I wouldn't blame EA for being cautious with the Switch. I would if I were in their position. Although there is hope they'll act as publishers for a few obscure titles.
As for the link above; it's just a thought piece from a nobody from a nobody site. Nothing to see here.
I think we will get Fifa and Madden hands down...after that EA is going to play the waiting game on sales. I know I'm getting FIFA so I'm doing my part. I just want NHL ....and maybe UFC if they do another one.
