@Anti-Matter We have the game on Xbox One and did an update yesterday. Can you explain what the point of the game is?

I play Switch version.
The PS4 & XBOX1 version still hasn't get the Update version 1.3.5, but later All Console version will got a HUGE Update simultaneously.

The Objection on Portal Knights :
1. Discover new world by activating every single portal gates. To activate the portal gates, you need Portal Cubes, crafted from Portal Shards (Hunt from enemies or digging from blocks)

2. Defeat the Boss that guard the portal that lead to another world. The bosses are : Ancient Worm, Dragon Queen & Hollow King. After you beat Hollow King (Final Boss) you will teleported to Portal Sanctuary, you can do some Optional quests to unlock something. The game is Open Ending, you still can continue your progress after beating the Bosses. Evenmore, you can beat them Again if you want to get Very Rare items from them.

3. Shaping the world with different kinds of blocks, plants, water resource, furnitures, etc. Very similar with Animal Crossing / Dragon Quest builder. You shape the world just for fun. Later, after the game updated with Creative Mode, you can create your own World with UNLIMITED source of blocks, plants, furnitures, all complete without spending any penny !
And you can fly like Superman when you choose Creative Mode.

So, basically Portal Knights is like Dragon Quest Builder / Zelda meet Minecraft & Animal Crossing.

@Anti-Matter Ok thanks! I'll give it another go today and look forward to the creative update. Whenever I play Minecraft, I only play creative, so I'll probably do the same here!

The NEWEST Update version 1.5.1 has been released on Nintendo Switch !
It will added with Creative Mode, Villainous Mode, New Worlds, New Items, etc.

@Anti-Matter Thanks for the update. I'm sorry to say I've still not rebooted this game since the first week I played. It's not that I don't think it's good, I've just been playing other stuff. But I'll boot it tomorrow to update and try and snag some gifts.

Have you tried the creative mode yet?

Yes, of course.
But I still wonder what should i make.
Because creating a big town needs some good ideas.

@Anti-Matter I think you should recreate your Animal Crossing New Leaf town for starters.

I have one copy (digital download) that i let it in Dormant condition (Not being played).

But to recreate town once again, i want to wham my forehead because it almost take forever to get specific desired villagers again.

Portal Knights Legendary Edition is already out.
It contain ALL DLC and the latest update.

@Anti-Matter I've still not gone back to PK in all this time 😂 but it definitely looks worthy of a revisit.

But is it an additional purchase, or does my standard edition upgrade automatically for free?

It counted as a separated purchase after i have checked from PS4 store. The Standard edition got discount but the Legendary edition cost $30.

I must admit, I haven't played this game as much as I should have done. Similarly to @gcunit, I've been playing other games. I'll have to go back to check out the new update at some point soon!

Was looking into buying dragon quest builders 2 but then heard about portal knights. How do the two games compare? Is one better or worse than the other?

An initial bit of digging online suggests the Legendary Edition doesn't add anything new, it's just a package that includes all previously released DLC.
