Surely I cant be the only one that feels the fps on pokemon to be painful. As you walk around there is 2 of everything and when you stand still it looks perfectly clear. Is there a way for me to post images or pics on here? Im surprised its not the main topic of discussion n the game.

Maybe try to turn off super-vision mode in your brain.

@sarethums do you experience this with any other games?

I mean, not trying to be rude, but as you mention, nobody else is speaking about this, don't you think it kinda means very few can see it?

Eel

Hm yes, I also played through that one recently and didn't really see anything out of the ordinary there either.

Could it be your console itself? Have you tried it in someone else's switch?

@eel I need to try out someone elses tv to be sure then

That's definitely not supposed to happen, even with low framerates. Might be a console malfunction, as it sounds like a GPU failure to me.

Update: ive just been to currys and tried out a tv of similar quality and I can definitely say its my tv. Cant believe i managed as many hours as i did on luigis mansion. The tv runs 60fps perfectly but anything at 30 is just unplayable, you can literally see old frames which doubles everything.

@sarethums Maybe look into the TV settings, sounds like your TV is doing some post-processing and failing. See if it has a game mode which turns all of that off.

@sarethums ouch. Yes hopefully it's something you can fix with tv settings.

You deserve a better Luigi's Mansion experience!

I never played the games you mentioned but from your description I suspect thermal throttling is occurring in your Switch, and it really shouldn't. Does it turn really hot when it lags? Is the fan failing? Are you keeping it in a particularly hot spot? Are ventilation holes covered? Also, although it might sound like a silly question, I have to ask it: does anybody smoke in the room where you keep the console?

@Galenmereth did a full reset on the tv, been messing around with the tv for weeks. Its out of warranty too.

@Gwynbleidd im in a 200 year old building in glasgow so overheating is never going to be an issue. it runs fine on a different tv in the shop, could it still be an issue with the switch? it looks terrible on handheld too. No smoke.

Eel

If it's that way on handheld too, then that's an issue with the console.

Try using a demo unit or a friend's console and check if you still see it.
