New Paper Mario game coming to Switch!

As long as it ditches all the nonsense in Colour Splash.

But the main critique was the lack of characters. I'll tell you, that game had more problems than that alone; so I really hope Ninty didn't just take that formula and added a bunch of toads with hats, because that isn't going to fix the game.

Looks fairly good, although really bland music.

That Metroid tease at the end was the best part though Lol.

I wonder what that was alluding to?

I want to see more of the Metroid stuff from the trailer, I'm hoping its not just an one of gag.

I'm not too hopeful for this one, PM has let me down twice in a row. Still... I really, really, really want this to be an actual great Paper Mario! It's been so long since the last great one.

A list of things I'd like to see:

• new original level themes
• new original characters
• final boss being someone other than Bowser
• Bowser's castle not being the final area
• an actual story, like in Super Paper Mario

@Dezzy Well I never played any as well. I guess what it shows is that the battle system has something about enemies in circles and then you can move rings around to move the enemies into rows or other possible formation.

There's some possibilities those positions can be of strategic importance, like putting them in a row lets you attack all of them, but that will also make them hits you harder. Etc, etc. WHo knows

yeah, when I read through this explanation:

"New to this title is a ring-based system in which you “line up scattered enemies and maximize damage.” It’ll be based around turn-based battles. Another addition is the 1000 Fold-Arms that “allows you to interact with the landscape by stretching out and pulling, peeling and revealing new locations, helping you to solve puzzles and uncover unexpected surprises.” Players will “enlist the help of characters old and new, such as King Olly’s good-natured sister, Olivia, along with a range of unlikely allies, including Bowser himself”."

I think it'll be pretty interesting. Well hopefully :0

There’s no stickers or cards anywhere so that’s good.

This will be the first Paper Mario I play so unsure what to expect but I am looking forward to it

This gives me more hope that we'll see the 3D Mario games this year!

It's looking very good so far! Based on the battles we've seen it seems like it won't be exactly returning to the first 2 games styles, but I'm OK with that. As long as they can make the battles feel worthwhile I'll be happy. I'm in the minority that actually enjoyed Color Splash, but my biggest complaint was that the battles felt completely pointless.
