Topic: Ocarina of time/Majora's Mask for the Switch?

I don't play handhelds (including mobile, really). When I play games, I like to enjoy them in a sedentary setting, with a big screen for enhanced immersion. I sincerely hope that Nintendo will release OOT/MM on the Switch, so that we can relive these two legendary games in HD on the big screen.

On that note, why the hell did Nintendo decide to release Twilight Princess remastered on the WiiU, but keep OOT and MM for the 3DS?

I want Skyward Sword on Switch first. The N64 Zelda games have been released so many times.

Skyward Sword still looks fine. A simple port would suffice IMO. I'd like to see a full on remake, Shadow of the Colossus style, of OOT and MM. You know, similar to that fan-made trailer for the Majora's Mask remake:

Just give me Wind Waker HD so I can buy it a third time. Still my series highlight.

I wouldn't say no to OoT / MM remake or a Windwaker HD.

I'm totally fine with any zelda game being ported or brought Nintendo switch. Be it in the way digital or physical it doesn't matter to me. For Me, more zelda more better. It's a little upsetting a year and a half into the switchs life cycle we only have 3 zelda games on the system(including hyrule warriors which I'm not into). I'm not counting zelda sp as a 4th. In fact, I'm down right frustrated they can't bring ALTTP, OoT, or even MM ( one of my least favorite zelda games but i would take it in a heart beat on switch). There's no reason more zelda games aren't on switch. Same goes for Mario games. Imagine how much more successful the switch would be if vc or more systems were brought to NSO service. But what do I know, I'm just a consumer who's willing to pay tons of money for the same games over and over.

Also I'm going to have pretty mixed emotions if they release the n64 classic. All that tells me is those games won't be coming to switch.

I love most Zelda games and would REALLY love to see them ported to Switch, but I think in the case of OoT (personal opinion), they should reboot it rather than just another port of it, it is great as is for the Wii & 3DS, but if they did think to bring it, up the game a little, I think that's not an unrealistic request, same for a remake/reboot of
Zelda 1, ALTTP (at least), as well as Seasons, Ages and Minish Cap, rebooted using the LoZ: ALBW engine
I say use the Switch's capabilities, not just to mirror port some games
Super Metroid and Samus Returns would not hurt my feelings either

@subpopz
I can respect that, but I would love to see some updated ones myself, not just originals, I LOVE ports, it's the reason I had a flashcart for my SNES back in 93, I wanted all my NES games also, but still would've liked to have seen updated ports like Nintendo did with Mario All Stars, I just think if you are going to get the ball rolling on making a port at all, might as well go all the way, but that's just my personal philosophy

I bought TP and WW for GC after enjoying BOTW. I promptly stopped playing them after I discovered I couldn't change the inverted camera.

Playing those would be nice.

I already have OoT for 64 and 3ds. MM on 64.

@Trajan Is it inverted? I believe Mario Sunshine has an inverted camera as well. I dunno; my mind goes in inverted mode whenever I have a GameCube controller in my hands, so I don't notice it.

Octane

Trajan

@Octane yeah, it does too. Played it for an hour a month or two ago. Maybe I could get used to it.

My mind thinks inverted with a N64 controller still, but not dual sticks.

Was halo inverted?

If you have a 3DS and a Wii U you can play all the TLOZ games ever made thanks to the virtual console and backwards compatibility!

If you have a Switch you can play the original and Breath of the Wild...

Yup, the Switch could use some more Zelda. Porting Twilight Princess HD and Wind Waker HD would be a good start

They'll most likely make as much money out of the N64 Mini as they can, then start to think about N64 games, whether that be straight ports or maybe even use build upon the 3DS versions of Ocarina and Majora by giving them a lick of HD paint.

If they just put the whole series on a cartridge I would gladly pay 100-150 for it. It's a pipe dream of course but realistically as long as LTTP and Wind Waker HD come over I will be happy with that!

Grumblevolcano

@Angelic_Lapras_King Yeah, appearance of a console's library on Switch around 2 years after the Mini comes out seems like a reasonable guess. The NES 3 games a month definitely feels like SNES isn't coming until late 2019 at the earliest.

I can imagine all they'd do is HD remaster OOT3D and MM3D and release them on the Switch. I already found those remakes to be very lackluster (they were recreated to look like remastered ports, even though they were remakes, they didn't even redo the OSTs, etc.), so I'd definitely pass on this.

Internally they're more like remastered ports than actual remakes.

Its not very apparent, but they do use a lot of the original code.
