Sweet. I've been wondering if this would be happening.

I don't think they said anything about timed exclusivity

So Nintendo is paying for another game to stay off the PS4 and Xbox One?

@Octane Just like how Sony continues to pay Capcom and Square-Enix to keep their games off the Switch, yes.

@Octane Might have more to do with the Nintendo roots for the other 2 games (I'm aware of the port of the first one).

I don't know if it was just my computer, but this trailer had Sonic Adventure 2 levels of audio quality.

No, with pokemon I think it was just parts of the music sounding weird to me, but I think that's just how they're supposed to be like.

In this one, it's actually the volume of the music overpowering the voice acting in some parts (hence my reference to SA2).

Luckily Nintendo has better taste!

Excited for this one!

Not likely. Also, you don't even know what the actual game is. AAA, indie, 3D, sidescroller, top-down, made by Grasshopper, made by indie devs... Who knows?

Don't hate me because I'm bnahabulous.

@Meowpheel It was mixed horribly, yes.

@Haru17 I had my own worries about the game, so I checked other sites for info:

Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes from Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacture: Seven years have passed since the events of No More Heroes, and The Bad is determined to exact his revenge on Travis Touchdown. Just like the original cult classic, players will have to battle through multiple punk-rock levels and defeat over-the-top bosses. Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch in 2018. More details about the game will be revealed in the future.

Taken from here. Their source is listed as "PR", so I'm assuming it's an official press release. I wouldn't go as far as saying it's confirmed to be just like the original games, but as far as official word goes, it's looking that way.

Also, there's a link in the YouTube trailer's description box that should lead to the official site of the game: http://tsanmh.com

...but, in classic Suda fashion, it's down. For now, at least.

@MarcelRguez Well if it's an AAA singleplayer not-open-world game on Switch then I'm interested. Never played the Wii games though.

Never played the games on Wii... I think the original teaser trailer and what we actually got turned me off from the games... but willing to give this a try once I see it in action.

@Haru17 You're in for a treat then. I replayed it after the Switch reveal conference (hadn't touched it for years) and I was blown away. The original NMH is videogames as a postmodern medium at it finest, with all its nonsensical plot-twists and fourth wall-breaking narrative devices. The gameplay itself is rather clunky (it's no Bayonetta, that's for sure), but the game is well worth playing because of its discourse alone.

This is a pretty decent article about the meaning behind the whole thing. Again, form > content as far as the first game is concerned, but it should give you a general idea of what it is.

The Wii games were awesome. They make the drags and drools of conventional games look tame.

They took the enjoyment of playing a game as a more blank canvas and built awesome experiences on it, conventions be damned.

Worth plugging your Wii back in again for.
