@OorWullie
The thing about all that "fast charge" and "rapid charge" is it has to be a feature of the device to use it. Like Qualcomm quick charge, that's not something Switch can do, so you're charger won't do more than standard charge on Switch

If we presume that the USB cable that, say, comes with the Pro Controller is an ideal charging cable for travelling, then what about the plug? Could I use my iPhone/iPad plug?

@Emperor-Palpsy yes, you can, it's 5 volts. Iphone plug will give you 1 amp, meaning a charging time of 4,5 hours for your switch. Ipad plug will allow 2,1 amps, effectively half that time, charging your switch in about 2 - 2,5 hours.

Assuming 5V across the board.....

~0.7A -> Will hold charge while idle on the home screen
~1.0A -> Enough to slowly charge while idle on the home screen
~1.5A -> Will slowly lose charge while playing an intensive game (like Zelda)
~1.7A -> Holds charge while playing an intensive game
~2.0A -> Will slowly charge while playing an intensive game
~2.5A -> Enough to fairly comfortably charge it in any game

most USB chargers out there are either 1A, 1.5A or 2A.

I have searched for a USB-C power bank on amazon, I found this 16750mAh guy: https://www.amazon.com/Compact-16750mAh-Portable-External-Nin...
It seems to be a proper one...

Actually, that's the best find yet I wish it was available in the netherlands lol.

You should be able to order it from any of the Amazons in the EU since the free flow of products and people is the whole point of the union.

@Neotonic
Um, I mean ya it should work, but it's not USB-C

I was approached by Imuto to receive a free iMuto 16750mAh 3-Port USB-C Power Bank (looks to be the same as the one referred to above by Mississauga and kivain) and test it with my Switch. I agreed to on the basis that I'd only share my honest views of the product and its suitability for the Switch.

So when I receive it I'll post back with my initial views on the product, and then update again once I've given it a proper test or two with the Switch.

Please bear in mind, if you're interested in my thoughts on it, that I've never used a powerbank before, so in that respect it will be kind of a 'noob' review. But I imagine plenty of new Switch owners might be in the same boat, and how complicated can it be?

Biggest thing would be testing the amps it can provide, which, you don't necessarily need special equipment for, you can always download certain apps which tell you how much current it has (not the most scientific way but, it works). Or, can drain Switch all the way to 0 and time how long it takes to charge to 100%. That might best the best way for comparisons between batteries.

Just some ideas

Granted, you can over think all this.

Anyone with a power bank now is best off waiting and seeing if the charge they get is sufficient for them.

Also cheap cables is not about cost to you or I, don't presume more expensive = better (but if they are coming from China at 15p each then I would guess they will be terrible), same as everything, buy a recognised brand from an actual retailer and check the spec.

Personally, I will use my 2A power bank and be happy to increase my battery while using the switch, if not actually charging it.

Switch games list,

Legend of Zelda BotW, Human resource machine, NBA Playgrounds, Street Fighter 2, Super Bomberman R, Snipperclips, Overcooked, World of Goo.

excellent find!

We just need to hear back on testing these, cause I think Power Delivery can do 15V, also if Switch can 100% take 3V.

RAVpower has one thats 15V 2A for $60 I think on Amazon. We need to know if it can charge fine off 5V or not

I think this powerbank is our best bet so far. It even comes with an AC adapter to charge itself super fast that could be used as an AC adapter for the switch on the road as well. It outputs via type-c at 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 15V/2A, 20V/1.5A. It's a 30W powerbank and a 30W AC adapter as a set. Oddly tho, you're on your own to buy a USB Type-C cable.

Ok, looks like Switch needs the full 15V (not 5V) if you want it to actually charge when you play rather than drain.

Question is whether we need that RAVPOWER 15V 2A charger or if a 5V with Power Delivery will work.

We need hard test results and comparisons. For now, I'd hold off buying anything unless you're OK taking the risk. Chargers likely to work best are that RAVPOWER listed above with 15V 2A, there's another brand that makes 15V 3A, or a power delivery that can deliver 15V with PD

Just tested my little 10,000mAh IOGEAR portable battery.

Switch was at 97%. I plugged in VIA USB-C to USB-C FOR FULL 3A, then played some Zelda for 5 minutes. Checked the battery, it was at 100%

They work!!! But it seems you must use USB-C to USB-C. A lot of reports from others saying it wasn't getting enough juice using USB-A to USB-C. Also, barely enough room in Sheika case for this little 10k. Can't imagine a 20,100 squeezing in there.

Confirmed working (positive charge while playing Zelda) using USB-C to USB-C
