So for now I am happy with my 128GB card to get me started with my Nintendo Switch, but even I see with all those games (especially non optimal compressed non Nintendo games) clocking in between 10 - 15GB. That means that in the future I will sooner or later either

a] Buy another 128GB card and Switch between cards, which would be suboptimal
b] Buy a bigger card (to another price, with technology catching up).

I currently eye option b], but I would love how Nintendo Switch would handle 1] Data Transfer from one card to antoher 2] Especially since I imported Rockman 11, I got the download code for Instrumental BGM, which I redeemed via Japanese eshop store.

Will the Switch automatically download everything (without Switching the storefront), once I change to another card? Or what hoops needs to be passed for that?

This is a question I would like to know the answer too as well.

Get a 400gb and do the migration of saving the Nintendo folder to your computer and then format to Switch format and then copy the Nintendo folder you saved to your computer back to the 400gb card and replace back to the Switch and there you go you have more space again.

@SwitchForce So basically I can copy and paste and all the DLC is also in my account. This is valueable information and I thank you for that.

No if you set the Switch to save to the SD card most DLC from what I know should downloaded to the SD card already. I did the migration from a 128gb to a 400gb by only copying the Nintendo folder from the SD card to computer and then back to the 400gb card after formatting it to Nintendo specs and then copied the Nintendo folder back to the 400gb card and powered up the Switch and everything was there. But make sure to read up on the Nintendo support pages about saving formatting the sd card and transferring the Nintendo folder before doing this.

@SwitchForce Meaning, if it was not tied to my account and there is no confirmation, practically anybody with my SD card could play downloaded games and or dlc (which I highly doubt), that was me saying "is also in my account". I think I should have been more clearer.

For completion sake, I looked up the article you have been referencing and to be honest did not know it existed.

No games are tied to the account it's only backing up and restoring it that your doing nothing more. That's how I backup my sd card before transferring to the 400gb sd card. And that's all I did to get back to gaming.
