Topic: Nintendo Switch making weird sounds

I'm not sure if it's the fan but it sounds concerning. I got my nintendo switch 1 week ago, and it's been making this sound from day 1.

I doubt this is a normal thing.
If it's not normal what should I do?

It sounds like there's something wrong with the cooling fan inside the console. Possibly a bent/chipped fanblade or a displaced/malformed ball bearing. I would call up Nintendo's service and see if you can send it in to get it repaired.

Wouldn't use it in the meantime, fan failure can be pretty damaging, plus it's at risk of overheating if the fan isn't working properly.

You didnt forget to oil it did you?

It might be your Switch rejecting Just Dance 2017

@penfew what did you end up doing about the fan noise? I got a switch yesterday and it is making the same noise

Take it back and exhange it. Just make sure they transfer the internal data to the new one.

@SwitchForce. I got it at a drug store and they said they don't think there is any returns or exchanges but to call the manager tomorrow. I called nintendo and they said they can fix it with a 3 weeks turn around. Worst case.

@Grimmus, at a Drug store? Never thought they would get into the business of doing that. NS must be that addictive lol...

Update: Store(Shoppers Drug Mart) is going to exchange it for a new one and send the bad one back themselves to the manufacturer.

@subpopz Sure am. I'm on the east coast now but am from Ontario originally.

@Grimmus I think most people get their Switches back within 5 days, btw. Send on a Monday, get it on Friday, unless they're backlogged.
