This completely boggles me. Why is the switch so difficult to connect to these? I am currently staying at the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites and it requires that I access a site and acknowledge the terms of use before accessing the internet. Problem is, the switch doesn't access that "hidden" web browser to do this. Why does Nintendo do this? Is it so hard to just add a stupid browser for crap like this?
Try calling the front desk in your hotel about your Switch's wi-fi situation. If things go smoothly, they will ask for your MAC address and they'll reserve it, so your Switch will be able to connect online. Hope this helps.
I’ve hooked up my Switch to at least three different hotels’ wifi networks without any issues.
The only one that has ever been a problem is the wifi at work, which for some reason drained the battery dry every time I brought my Switch in. Had to forget the network in the end.
@Zuhan It is gonna be different from hotel to hotel. Even within hotel chains, there are always differences. I worked at a small hotel in a country town and our wi-fi worked great when we were only around 2/3 capacity, but when were fully booked there wasn't much that could be done. It is just what happens when you have several hundred people trying to watch Netflix and porn at the same time in the same building...

@Zuhan The same thing still applies. It just depends on the hotel and the demand on their internet. If you are competing with 500, 1000, who knows how many people for data, it is gonna be limited if it works at all. Or if that particular hotel has bad internet you can just be out of luck. Whenever I stay somewhere, I tend to mention bad internet in the subsequent review, and I know others do as well. Check reviews for that sort of information when you plan to travel.

@AlohaPizzaJack I'm not really sure where one is nearby. I'm currently in California with no vehicle due to it being in storage, I'm heading to Japan in the next 3 months. I can make due with my crappy slow cell hotspot speeds till I get there.
@Zuhan Well I live in Japan and I can tell you I haven't been to a hotel here yet that I wasn't able to connect to. It's rarely fast, but at the least you should be able to update your games/console as needed.

I travel a lot and can occasionally have issues with the hotel's sign in system. When it completely fails I just tether it to my phone to update/e-shop
@Heavyarms55 When I get to Japan I won't be in a Hotel (Thank God lol). I will be in either an apartment or a house and I can't wait to get out there .
@Zuhan Oh, well very nice then! Most Japanese cities have very affordable fiber-optic internet, so connection speeds are real nice. I have zero issues streaming video or downloading games. (At least no related to my actual connection, my hardware is getting old lol)
