Go check it out. I think this is awesome. I hope that means they are coming to the eShop as well.

I hope so. It'll be nice to see criticisms/opinions on the game on eShop with the proper moderation in place

If its like the one they had back on Wii, i.e. just giving out stars from 1 to 5, I wouldn't care much for it. I want to be able to give a written recommendation.

Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again

You have to have played the game to write a review, and you do indeed have to write a review. I don't believe you can leave those boxes blank when you rate a game.

NINTENDO TAKES CUSTOMER REVIEWS OPTION OFF THEIR WEBSITE, NO DATE SPECIFIED FOR RETURN

"Customer reviews have been taken offline as we evaluate this feature and its functionality. We currently have no estimated date on when an update will be provided. We appreciate the positive response and thank the reviewers who provided such thoughtful commentary on the games."

That's terrible. The review feature that took a year to implement hasn't even been up a week. Doesn't fill me with confidence regarding other forthcoming more important features.

This really pisses me off because it doesn't look to be a technical issue. How are we not to assume Nintendo didn't notice the low rating 1-2 Switch had only to shut the whole thing down in response lol. For such a successful company, they are so mismanaged when it comes to anything but the damn games most of the time.

@McGruber kimishima isn't a gamer, he is a business man. He just does what he needs to do in order to get money for Nintendo. Besides it isn't too bad that user reviews don't exist, it may be better this way.

@SVTornado It's not so much that they don't exist, but the mismanagement that frustrates me. I wasn't clamoring for user ratings, but it is something I wanted. So I left a few the other day that got posted, and now this, without any reason given. That's the rub. If it was just technical issues, they would have said that, so it's obvious they got cold feet. Why exactly I'm not sure. In browsing the few reviews that were posted, I didn't really see any blatant trolling. Hopefully they are going to just tweak the system and implement it again.

Dude you gotta chill. Your word choice of "this is appalling" that you used in the actual news article thread really irks me. "Appalling" is when a public disaster occurs and people lose lives when it could have been prevented, NOT when a video game company removes user reviews from its website. These hyperbolic statements that you all throw around just denigrates the language to the point where every little thing that happens is all the way at one end of the spectrum, positive or negative. There's no civil middle ground anymore.

You and yours need to chill.

@McGruber
And you: what?! I mean, look at yourself: you're on a Nintendo forum. What the heck would differentiate user reviews that we all share on this website (and many like it) daily from something you would find on their shmancy "official" page?

Nothing.

Your argument is illogical. So you say the "mismanagement frustrates" you. Oh? You have inner knowledge of Nintendo's online management and what was going on with this decision behind the scenes? Please - tell us. Shed some light on the subject. How can you call something "mismanaged" if you're not part of the project?

@rallydefault Yeah I'm basically saying I'd do things differently. It's my opinion. If that bothers you then too bad. I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but I know what they are not doing, and that's why I say it's bad for business. And yes I'm a huge Nintendo fan, and have been since 1990
