Thanks, for the example. What port was worse on the Wii U compares to PS4? Assassin's Creed 4?

Well, Assassin's Creed 4 didn't get any of the dlc (Why do you hate us so much, Ubisoft!?).

Yes, that particular journalist made it all up and we should just listen to those two small, Nintendo loving, indie developers.

Well here's the thing though. You're putting the reliability of one anonymous source against the reliability of two known and experienced developers. The question is which source is more reliable for information based on what we know about them. Them being "small or indie" has nothing to do with their reliability especially when compared to a single unknown source.

What do you expect the 3rd party developer to do, risk his job by identifying himself? There is no risk of losing your job when you are a indie developer praising Nintendo.

Allow me to ask you question. How do you know the source was a real third party developer? As he never admitted his identity nor who he worked for. Since he/she is anonymous he/she could be anyone, and could easily be lying as they have are not held accountable for their actions. We know very little if anything about this source.

So it doesn't change anything. You're still putting up an anonymous source against two known and experienced sources, and claiming it to be more reliable because the others are "small, indie, and Nintendo loving". Even though they are known, experienced, accountable, and by all means are more reliable than that single unknown source who we know nothing about.

I hope you never try to be a journalist. You would fail at it if you only posted sources who are OK with being identified.

@DeHalan:
Agreed, B:AO was so much better on the WiiU. I played it on PC and it was so bad I felt like I had to vomit! Decided to give it another shot on the WiiU, the gamepad helped it alot.
Deus Ex was another good one. They fixed the boss fighting and added filler where the original had no content.
NFS was a good port as well.
Most complaints about ports to the WiiU were...
*Year old games at original price where other console copies were cheaper
*Lack of content like multiplayer
*Lack of already released DLC
*Lack of future DLC support
*Lack of optimization for the WiiU/gamepad

Examples such as Mass Effect releasing a bundle pack of all 3 cheaper then ME3 on the WiiU by itself.
Assassin's Creed 3 was crappy on the WiiU but the funny thing was it was crappy on all consoles. I actually seen less bugs on the WiiU then the ps3 verson so I don't know if that's a win. Some developers seemd not to give a $h!t at all, announcing no future support or content, before they even released their port. Yay! Let's kill the game before we even sell it x.x

That has nothing to do with the discussion, especially considering how journalism tends to be. The discussion is, based on the information we know on them, why is that one anonymous source more reliable than the other two known and experienced sources?

@Aromaiden Please. What makes you think he'll suddenly change his mind?
Edit: @Ryno why are you so sure that he didn't make it up? It could be true, but it could very well be completely fake. We can't know for sure because, oh yeah! WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THIS PERSON!

Thanks, I know its a losing cause. When I joined this site back in 2010, the users here were able to discuss the negative with Nintendo a long with the positive. Now, your viewed as Satan if you don't defend Nintendo.

@Ryno: That doesn't change anything. Just because the article "looks" legitimate or real, doesn't make it reliable. The reliability of an article comes from the source or person who wrote it, not from it's appearance. By that logic I could write an article similar to that about another gaming company and I would be just as reliable.

Why should that article from the anonymous source be anymore reliable than what the other sources said.

@Aromaiden & @NintendoFan64: Please, continue to question the integrity of Eurogamer. After all, I'm sure they didn't vet their source well enough. Actually, you guys should write them and tell them to no longer post articles with anonymous sources. I'm sure they will appreciate your comments.

@Aromaiden: he is trolling you
@Ryno: Nintendo isn't perfect and has lots of faults. Even the game pad could have been useful but was handled wrong.
But to put it simply, Nintendo is being bashed needlessly.
I know very few people with a WiiU but almost everyone I know has a PS4 and/or XBone.
The people with the WiiU's all play it regularly and have a decent library of games.
The people with PS4s usualy have a hand full of games but don't play it much (unless you count netflix)
People with XBone(no WiiU or PS4) like my brother spend time bashing every other console but never play their XBones.
In fact my brother stole a bunch of my games for the original Wii frome me lol!
I'm actually a PC gamer obsessed with power and performance but for some reason I like the WiiU over the others.

Ryno

@Aromaiden $ @NintendoFan64: I believe both sets of sources. Yeah, small indie developers think Nintendo is fine because they are still making games for them while 3rd Parties are not.

@Syntech: I am running into that same problem. I keep wanting to sit down and play some games on my PC and then I'll go "hmm did I unlock everything in that level on W101/Bayo? Let me play a quick game of splatoon..." PC doesn't get touched. I've promised myself that I'll give quality time to Fallout 4 but I honestly think I'll still be building levels in SMM or playing Yoshi.

Why should that article from the anonymous source be anymore reliable than what the other sources said.

Again, the fact that the article and person in question got as publicized as it did means his identity was confirmed to someone. It's not like some random internet commenter sent in a news tip saying "Hey I'm a totally legit 3rd party developer print this story". These anonymous people are validated by someone. Otherwise big name gaming sites wouldn't run the story. Whoever he or she is, they have to be legitimate if a site like EuroGamer ran it. Just because he's anonymous doesn't make him any less credible. It means he values his job. Again, it's easy to identify yourself if all you're going to do is sing praises for a company you make games for. You're not going to see anyone publicly call out Nintendo on their mishaps, not if you work for someone. So just because he doesn't want to lose his job doesn't mean you should discount what he said.

He obviously was validated by someone when his statements started making the rounds. That's how journalism works much of the time.

@Operative: Here's the thing. I'm not saying that the anonymous source should be ignored or disregarded. Rather that it shouldn't be held anymore reliable than the other sources stated. Reliability is determined by the person or source stating it, and when regarding a anonymous source, they're not exactly reliable.

That's the thing though. No one is saying the known developers are any less reliable or that the anon guy is any more reliable (as far as I'm aware). But I do seem to see people implying that because he didn't identify himself, that what he told us means less. Which I find would be a silly thing to do.

@Syntech: your scoffing the Xbox because it took 1 year to surpass the Wii U? what!? selling 13 Million units in 1 year is phenomenal! thats faster than the 360 which ended up selling more than 80 Million units.
