A game doesn't need to necessarily be optimized to be enjoyable. I've been having a blast with it and have no trouble at all playing it. That being said though the other versions may run better and who's to say a patch could come along and fix some performance issues. The switch version may not be the best but it's certainly one of my favorites on the platform so far.
@GameOtaku I'm not a huge stickler about framerate (the drops in unpatched BotW didn't really bother me, for example), but Nights of Azure 2 felt sub-20fps when I entered that battle sequence.
I mean, if that doesn't bother you, then great! I don't think I could enjoy it, however.
I've been enjoying NoA2, framedrops and all; pity it's a short game. My only real complaint is 'B' being "Confirm" and 'A' being "Cancel." Is there any way to change that? 'Cause it's been driving me up the wall.
I noticed the frame rate issues but, it wasn't enough to cause more than an aggravation for me. I heard it has bad performance on both platforms. Haven't really tried much of the handheld mode though, since I was home when I played it.

I thought Resident Evil 4 was the worst game I ever played after only 5 minutes, but I stuck around with it and it came to be one of my favorite games. You spent one hour in an action rpg, in most games like that it only picks up after the first hour. The frame rate drops were not that bad, sure they exist but not to the point it's unplayable.
Completed the game on normal and got the "bad" ending. Working through it again on new game plus to get the better endings and I am loving every bit of it!
The paid side story dlc gives you the pink requiem costume which boosts all stats as well as a new area for you to conquer which adds a little more background to the Moon Queen.
Thinking about making this my next purchase, but one thing that has me worried is that apparently you only have so much time to beat the game before getting a genuine "Game Over"?
The Nintendo Life review seemed to indicate that they managed to complete most things with plenty of time to spare, but I'd like a few more opinions from people who've played it.
BTW, I'm not too worried about the framerate. For example I had no issues with the framerate in the DQHI&II demo, and although not a framerate issue, I've never been put off by the resolution of XC2 in handheld mode.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

The game over timer is the moon but you also have a time limit that you can stay out (think hunting time in monster hunter where the hunt fails and you are returned to town). When you start off the game you can attempt to complete the story objective and if you time out you are returned to base and you sleep which causes the moon to wane slightly. You can increase the time spent in the hunt by offering blue blood in the lab and by defeating bosses the moon fills up toward full so you don't really have to worry about timing out. Just be sure you make good progress early on in the stages as possible.

I would recommend Fire Emblem Warriors and the upcoming Hyrule Warriors. Similar gameplay but awesome performance (1080p super stable 30fps OR 720p 60fps, your choice).
If you're looking more for an RPG though, Xenoblade 2 is the only right choice 😄
This game here- Nights of Azure 2, isn't for everyone. I enjoyed what I played, but it does have some framerate issues, and it is more niche.
