I didn't see any topics on the forum for this great looking game so I started one. Who else is looking forward to its release on the Switch, have you played the original (I haven't), and any other thoughts or comments.

Yes, this is releasing next month along with NBA 2k18 physical release (basically a relaunch since the patch will also be live by then), Fire Emblem Warriors, Mario Odyssey, Axiom Verge, Battle Chasers Nightwar, Spelunker Party, Tiny Barbarian... lots of physical releases in October. Probably forgetting some even.

Anyways, I have this game preordered and no, I haven't played the original. But it looks like a solid game, and I want JRPGs on Switch, that's what Wii U was missing. I just hope a lot of others are interested in this game because we need to support JRPG's to ensure they keep coming.

I've got a feeling that it's premise will put people off. Usually, I'm at the front-row when it comes to JRPGS, but this one, I''ll skip.

October looks like a great month for games but it seems every release is going to be overshadowed by the juggernaut that is the plucky little plumber. I'm not going to deny it I love fanservice and fanservicey games so I'm going for it over Mario. (Although ill pick it up much later, September was also a busy month for game releases)

@GameOtaku It's on my radar but at the moment there are already too many games that I definitely want this season, and not enough time or money for them all. I'm afraid it will probably fall by the wayside until later on, if I can find a used copy.

(My must-haves include Skyrim, Doom, XC2, Rocket League and Stardew Valley if it comes out this year.)

@GameOtaku I bought and played the original game on the Ps4 when it was releases.I'm a big fan of Gust and seeing a new game by them I was excited to try it.To be honest the story was weak and the action combat was pretty repetitive,despite that I got pretty addicted to it and played until I'd finished...well,beat the normal ending as you had to defeat extra bosses to get the proper endings.And that was another thing I found was wrong was the difficulty spikes.Some of those bosses for me were next to impossible.
The sequel to me looks completely different this time though with about three girls in your party?in the first it was just you and your pokemon type creatures.I'm actually more excited about the sequel despite not being overly impressed with the first but have yet to decide what system I'll get it for..and when

I'm typically down for any game with an all/mostly female cast especially if said females are more interested in each other than any fellas BUT I'm not sure what to make of this game. Senran Kagura and DOA are wickedly fun brawlers and I can usually appreciate the gameplay along with the girlies. Maybe I need to watch more gameplay videos but NoA isn't quite selling me.

Will that DLC be available any other way?

I have the special collectors edition preordered through NIS Online Store.

I'm not sure. I wonder if it's also the dlc with the collectors edition just minus the fancy collector items like the wallscroll (I really wanted it, but was only available online and Im strongly against buying online).

@GameOtaku
Can I ask why?

I've been buying online for the better part of a decade. I have approximately 75 games/accessories/amiibo/consoles/guides/etc preordered at any given time. I get at least three packages a week in the mail that are video games related. I have never once had an issue.

I use PayPal Credit which is 100% protected, and BestBuy Credit Card for 90% of my purchases because the Gamer's Club Unlocked membership at BestBuy grants 20% off all new games, and it's only $30 for 2 years (so $15/yr and I save about $1000/yr since I spend roughly $4,000-5,000 per year at BestBuy). On top of that you get 5% back for using their CC and another 4% back in reward points just because MyBestBuy members get double reward points on video game purchases. And as an Elite Plus member for spending over a certain threshold each year, it's also free expedited shipping, 45 days to price match or make returns, and 6% back with CC instead of 5% So basically 30% off every video game purchased, delivered to my door free of charge on day of release (and often before release- got my SNES Classic 3 days before release for example)

Probably just me, I hate it when a store is just down the road and would only take 20 minutes of my time to go pick up a game pay no shipping and have it in my hands so if it's damaged I won't have to send it back and wait longer. I mean I have to go to town for work and groceries so why not just get it when I'm out? I just find online shopping wasteful, lazy and it doesn't help local businesses at all.

@GameOtaku
It is lazy but, that's why I find it so appealing 😁

Only places that sell games here in town is Walmart and Gamestop, and neither is really a small business, and I hate giving GS my money.

Plus, games add up. When every game costs $42 instead of $60 I can afford more games, and don't mind buying day one.

Yeah I buy my games any Gamestop and Walmart and never had any problems (I don't do trade ins). I've bought a DVD set online and it was broken, a game and disc was out loose so I take that out of the equation and have far less to worry about.

Just got the Collector's Edition in the mail today. Gorgeous CE and fits nicely next to Disgaea 5. The hard cover art book included is the exact same size for both games, as is the collectible box.

As for the game... I like it. It has gameplay similar to Fire Emblem Warriors, only not as smooth and in an RPG setting obviously. There's a few frame rate dips here and there but, it's by no means unplayable.

It's very narrative and story driven with lots of cut scenes (and the women look like they forgot to put their clothes back on while trying out lingerie at Victoria's Secret), but I like the game. I do. It reminds me a lot of Tales of Berseria. Which is definitely a good thing. A little lower budget but with a much stronger focus on story and cut scenes. But the combat works and the store is certainly interesting, end it follows that same pattern that Tales games follow which I really love.

I wouldn't recommend this game above Mario Odyssey or Fire Emblem Warriors, but I think it's a decent game worth checking out if you like JRPG's. I love that Switch is getting so many Japanese games- this is what the Wii U missed, and I think it's what killed the system tbh.

Another solid title from NIS (except for Touhou, stay far away from that sorry excuse of a game). But Disgaea 5? Nights of Azure 2? Solid JRPG's.

I've heard the Switch version of NoA2 is a less than stellar port, and is sub-HD on the handheld. I'll judge for myself when I get some hands-on time with it, though. I'm not expecting PS4 level performance out of a small-ish gaming tablet.

If DOOM can run at 720p on the system, though, there's no excuse for most other games not to.

Idk if it is or isn't, but it looked decent enough to me. I mean it's certainly no graphical showcase to begin with, but when I was playing it, I thought it looked about as good as Dragonball Xenoverse 2, maybe a tad better even.

I will say though, the game is crazy addictive. Really honestly feels like playing a Tales game. Only it's kinda hard to put the game down. I thought I just check it out for a couple minutes and get a save file started quick, and I ended up playing for several hours before I finally forced myself to stop.

There were a few frame drops though. But I was having so much fun I just kind of brushed it off. What I like most about this game is how intriguing the story is and just how many cut scenes are in the game. There's a crap load of cut scenes (in a good way). Like, they really didn't chinse out in that respect, and as a result the story really grabs you and sucks you into the world.

Right now I would say this game is about as good as Tales of Berseria, just judging on the first several hours of each game. Only with a lot more story and cutscenes.
