So Platinum Games Director says he'd gladly port Nier to Switch, or even Super Nintendo, "whatever you want" if Square Enix pays them. So it may be in Nintendo gamers' interest to let Square Enix know fans want it. And besides, there's also Final Fantasy XV, Final Fantasy VII, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 and Kingdom Hearts 2.8 and Kingdom Hearts III.

I would personally love to see strong Square Enix support on Switch. And so far it's looking encouraging. But a lot of Nintendo fans aren't really vocal like gamers on other platforms tend to be, and as a result I think developers often don't understand how many Nintendo gamers are actually interested in playing the games they make. We saw the effect fans had on Dragon Quest 7 and 8 being localized. Outreach can and sometimes does make a difference.
