I'm just thinking - is a Direct even likely in between now and E3? I know we all want one, but we've got to remember that the last Direct we had before the February one was way back in September. They're pretty far and few in between these days.
They could do a mini Direct, but I just don't think there will be a full-blown Direct. I'd love to be surprised. Namely because I want to finally see Animal Crossing Switch, gosh darn it!
@Harmonie Smash 3.0 (before the end of April), Mario Maker 2 (June), Fire Emblem Three Houses (26th July) suggests yes as all 3 release early enough that just relying on E3 onwards isn't enough. Whether that ends up being in the form of a normal Direct, 3 game dedicated Directs or some combination of a normal Direct and dedicated Directs, who knows.
@Harmonie With how unpredictable Nintendo can be, it's difficult to tell but Nintendo has been doing surprising things one after another. I just hope that a trailer of Bravely Third is shown either in a Direct/Mini or in E3. Square Enix said months ago something about it.
Undergoing games:
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity
If there is a normal Direct in April, I think Nintendo and Microsoft will have timed it and Inside Xbox such that the most hype is gained from Ori announcements (Ori is rumoured to be coming to Switch and Ori 2 seems to be the next XB1 1st party game after February's Crackdown 3 judging by X018).
Plot twist: Reggie tells us that Mother 3 is indeed coming, however before he gets to sign his name on the deal, the last working day ends and the security guard escorts him off the premise with his box of belongings

Nintendo Direct on 15 April 2019, dedicated to Reggie as he will leave from Nintendo very soon. Featuring Reggie Amiibo, Nostalgic videos with Reggie, Switch Fit, etc.
Hope we get a future direct showing more about Three Houses. Dweebs like to hate on the series now, but I genuinely want to know what direction they’re taking, and if they’re following the Fates Team B approach again.
SoV makes me hopeful it’ll not and I really just want to see it again since it won’t come out until July.
Given the timing for the Labo VR updates is the same as the Persona 5S news and Box Boy + Box Girl releases the following day, I think the next Direct may be April 25th with spotlight segments on Mario Maker 2 and Smash Ultimate.
Anyway, it would be pretty cool to have a final Direct with lots of Reggie and the reveal of new Switch models. And a surprise announcement of that Skyward Sword port we all know is happening. And Star Fox Zero on Switch without mandatory motion controls. And Animal Crossing releasing this summer.
And a remake of Super Mario RPG to kick off the jam-packed fall season.
@rallydefault Star Fox Zero is dead. Ain't no chance that's coming back, and I would not be surprised if we don't hear anything about Star Fox as a franchise for years to come. That game kinda killed it. I also doubt we will hear anything regarding Skyward Sword due to Link's Awakening happening this year. The Nintendo slate for 2nd half of 2019 is pretty packed so I am not expecting any new first party announcements, just updates.
But Reggie to close things off one last time would be huge. But at the same time I can see that not happening and some random video dropping the day he leaves instead saying goodbye.
