@subpopz haven't tried both yet, but I guess the 8Bitdo. the D-pad is on a place I'm better used to.

I've got a wii u pokken which I use for my Neo Geo Hamster games and, YES!, it works with NES online. The lack of home button is of course bothersome, but only an issue when you want to quit the online service, the pokken's ZR ZL are work fine. Start stop A and B all as should be. And X Y do all the moving about of titles. Nice sturdy controller and far better for the NES games than the joycon.

Assuming they would have rights to distribute all of these games again, I want to see:
Castlevania
Castlevania 2
Castlevania 3
Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link
Punch Out!!
Kid Icarus
Kirby's Adventure
Super Mario Bros. 2
Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2
Double Dragon 2
Double Dragon 3
Metal Storm
Ninja Gaiden 2
Little League Baseball
Contra
Bionic Commando

The one game I want above all else is Bucky O'Hare. It's pretty fantastic!

@Sakura7 “Did you say Bucky?!”

I don't know why, but somehow it got seared into my brain that in LoZ Dungeon 3 is Dungeon 2. I finished Dungeon 1, and of course went straight to Dungeon 3... again... for the gazillionth time...

You'd think with as many times as I've played it I would have learned by now. It's just such a facepalm moment every time I do it, probably even double facepalm by now...

I'm doing dungeon 3 second as well, in part cause I can't find dungeon 2. I've found dungeons 5 and 6 though.

@FaeKnight I had trouble with the volcano right before the first boss as well. That's where my first couple of runs ended. Once I got past that, it wasn't that hard to get to stage 3. I think I only died once in stage 2.

It's its, not it's.

It's been so long since I played Zelda 1, I'd forgotten where the FIRST dungeon was.

Same here. It’s kinda stupid they didn’t make possible to change controls.

Card flip thing, no idea how that's spawned. I always doing accidentally, if it's not a random occurrence. Same with the coin ship.

EDIT: I had remembered the secret in world 1-3, but I'd forgotten just what level it was in world 1. And I'd forgotten what it was (warp whistle, apparently). One thing I've forgotten is how to turn into a statue when you're Tanuki Mario.

Yay. After about 30 years, I have finally managed to beat Gradius (of course by using the Konami code and relentlessly abusing save states). People always mention Mega Man and Ghosts and Goblins as incredibly hard, but I don't know how anyone can beat this game playing normally. I don't think I've ever made it past stage 2. But speaking of which, on to Ghost and Goblins now.

Also don't forget about the Blue Toad House, spawned only when you get a certain amount of coins in certain levels.

In the GBA version, there is a block that appears in the beginning of the level after you beat the game that tells you how much coins you need to spawn it.

Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill

I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!

Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.

I’m loving that everyone is having a great time with these games! So many ‘a ha!’ Moments from remembering tricks and such.

Make sure in the final level you grab the shield and still have it when you reach the final boss. It might be a POS weapon, but it's the only way to defeat the boss.

I'd always thought all 3 were random occurrences since I couldn't figure out what caused them to appear.
