Topic: Need help in a quest in Zelda BOTW

Hello,

I have arrived on an isle at the extreme south east of the map where, upon reaching the beach i got told to bring 3 pearls on 3 altars. The thing is.... i need to do it without my equipment..

I managed to put 2 in places (with some troubles^^) but the thirth is on the neck of a cyclops and he just one shoted me
is there a way to detach the pearl or do i really need to kill him?
i had only like 10 arrows and i it was hard hitting his eye^^ i saw that when his eye got hit, he would "prostrate" and expose the pearl (i also could take a bow and a big weapon from him)..

i thought of bringing some explosive barrels near him and make it all explode too but it would involve a lot of walking^^

anyway i just wanted to know if there is a way to remove the pearl from him or do i really need to kill him.
please avoid spoilers if possible i am early in the game:)

I managed to land on him very gently & pick up the orb without killing him, he did wake up but i manged to get away from him without firing a shot or getting hit. It took a few attempts before i mastered it, if he wakes up before you've got the orb just run away & hide, after a few minutes he gets fed up & goes back to sleep so you can try again. Good luck

i thought of picking it while he sleeps by using the yellow power of the shika stone or shooting an arrow but didn't thought of that haha^^

I shot arrows at the string holding the orb to his neck, it rolled away from the Hinox, I waited for him to fall asleep and just walked over and picked it up! A friend of mine threw a sword at him during a thunder storm while he was sleeping and dealt with him that way!
I think that's the beauty of this game, there are so many different and varied solutions to the problems that you are presented with.

wow some very creative ways to get that orb, I struggled with that island till I had all 4 devine beast perks and 30 hearts than I just kicked his butt

What I did is use cryonis as close to the island as possible, and threw whatever equipment I'd need on the island before I touched it so I could pick it up after the stuff I didn't throw was taken away. I then used the stronger equipment to more efficiently dispatch of the big baddy. But please note, anything used in this method not normally obtainable on the island will be removed from your inventory for good.

I just threw bombs at him for 15 minutes or so lol.

I used bombs on him as well

I found Eventide Island on my 1st day of playing, way back on the 3rd March, so only had a few hearts and no divine beast perks @ValhallaOutcast
