@kobashi100 cant lie I am a little bumbed this isn't 60fps now. So far it's doesn't look that good to say it can't be 60.... I mean it doesn't even have the clothes animation.

Looks fantastic. Unfortunately I'll have to wait til next month, since I have the physical edition preordered.

Mildly amused that all the news sites are freaking out about how this game needs an SD card to fit a PS4 size file on the Switch. At the end of the day the eShop file size is only 6.8GB, which although it's a hearty sized game compared to Arms or Bomberman, it really isn't as bad as they're letting on. I'm guessing the download for the card version is the change of a 4GB card- so 2.8GB or so?

Isn't it obvious that Falco Lombardi is actually a parrot?

Someone on gaf downloaded and said 22.9GB on the sdcard and 3GB to the internal storage totaling 26GB so far on version 1.02 and latest update installed

What we do know is the save file is massive and Nintendo need to allow users to save to memory card as going forward this is going to be a problem.

Looked at so much gameplay and something is just off. It just doesn't look good to me. The flat looking jerseys is also a big flaw.

Nah I think it looks superb. Clothing physics are missing which sucks but gameplay looks tight.

Clothing animations should hopefully be in next year's game.

@kobashi100 I hope that is the case. I'm going to skip this year's version and see hopefully what they do next year if improvements are made. Plus all the sd card stuff I just don't think it's worth it for me. Good on them for bringing the game though. I think a lot of people are excited about it. A lot of people seem to like what they are seeing so hopefully it does above their expectations.

69,99€ [DL] NBA 2K18
99,99€ [DL] NBA 2K18 - Legend Edition
149,99€ [DL] NBA 2K18 - Legend Edition Gold

1,99€ [Item] NBA 2K18 - 5.000 VC-Pack
4,99€ [Item] NBA 2K18 - 15.000 VC-Pack
9,99€ [Item] NBA 2K18 - 35.000 VC-Pack
19,99€ [Item] NBA 2K18 - 75.000 VC-Pack
49,99€ [Item] NBA 2K18 - 200.000 VC-Pack
99,99€ [Item] NBA 2K18 - 450.000 VC-Pack

The game is a 22,9GB download, so it could have fit on a 32GB cartridge.
I think putting the game on a 8GB cartridge and selling it for 149,99€ is a rip-off.

So, what are the differences between the versions?

Additional extras in the Legend Edition:
1. 100.000 VC
2. 20 My TEAM Card Packs (1 Pack each week) with one Shaq-Card guaranteed.
3. Shaq-Attaq shoes
4. Rookie-Shaq shirt
5. Shaq-Official-Logo shirt
6. Shaq-"Nickname" outfit
7. Shaq-Championship ring

Extras in the Legend Edition Gold:
1. Everything in the Legend Edition
2. but instead of 100.000 VC you get 250.000 VC.
3. and instead of 20 My TEAM Card Packs you get 40.
4. Plus Mitchell & Ness-Shaq outfit collection (5 outfits)
5. More My PLAYER clothes

Wish we had some devs on here. I want to know what kind of power it takes to implement clothing animations. It's missing on this and fifa. I know it seems silly but the uniforms just look so awkward without them. It like we passed that stage already. One of the little details I loved about modern sports games.

Anyone get the game yet?

I'm waiting on the physical version, but it seems pretty clear to me EA was right all along, and TakeTwo went the wrong route.

People on Reddit reporting lots of issues with the cutscenes in the story mode. Audio and graphical glitches that get really bad. It's also 30 frames per second and only 720p (I think). Not to mention despite buying the physical version you still have to download 21 GB total. Also issues with controllers desyncing when docking it and some input delay. And... and... they replaced the Online With Friends mode with the Local Play mode. Which is deceiving because they've been touting full parity. It's really odd too because it still has online play with randoms. You also can't access MyNeighborhood without an internet connection, and when playing the story mode, if you're not connected to the Internet you won't get to watch the cut scenes and you won't earn VC- instead it'll be replaced with skill points. And the customization options are extremely limited and locked behind VC, to the point you can barely even change your skin color.

Now... compare that to FIFA 18. In FIFA, its a buttery smooth 60fps. BOOM. In FIFA, its 1080p docked and 720p handheld. BOOM. In FIFA 18, the entire game comes on the cartridge. BOOM. We still don't know about bugs and performance but I think it's safe to say based on their custom engine and the high level of performance that FIFA will run just fine. HOPEFUL BOOM

I'm still buying this game because I don't care about the story or cutscenes. In fact, I see it as a bonus that the cut scenes won't play when it's off-line because then I won't have to deal with them stuttering down to 10 frames per second (and without the option to skip). I also don't care if I don't earn VC offline, because I'm getting the Legend Edition which comes with plenty. But even if I wasn't, I just really care about quick sessions. I also don't care about playing online with friends because I don't have any friends who are buying this. Personally, the local play they replaced it with (two single joycons) is actually of use to me and the one mode I actually cared about. I am concerned about some of the bugs and glitches, but I'll deal with it because I've heard it just playing quick matches runs pretty fine for the most part. The large additional download also sucks, but being that it's the exception and not the rule, I can afford the space. I'm also hoping that some of the issues are due to the quality of SD, and I have a pretty good one so I'm thinking the game might run a little better for me.

But I just wanted to get some feedback from others who have actually played the game. Despite the issues, most people seem to say they're really impressed with it nonetheless. Which bodes well because if people are still impressed with the game despite all of that then it's got to be doing something right.

@JaxonH The issues with the cutscenes seems to be present on the other platforms as well.

Anyways I'm still waiting for it to finish downloading.

@Qwertyninty wasn't the clothing animations on the 360/PS3 version?

It's not a hardware limitation. Anyway this video shows 2k did a fine job. Visually it looks great compared to other consoles. Definitely not a port of the 360 game. 2K definitely made sacrifices to get the engine running on switch though. You can see it
lacks depth of field, with lower lighting and texture quality.

Maybe next year we get a custom engine for switch.

Having that quality on a handheld is damn impressive.
