I think that Nintendo should release an English remake of Mother 3 on the Switch as it would attract lots of fans of the series. If the other games in the series can get remade, why can't Mother 3?
It probably won't be remade. Just a VC port seems like the most likely outcome, that Emily person still hasn't back-pedalled on that when she claimed it was in the works. Though it's an amazing game in its current state so I don't think a remake is necessary.
I'm wondering, if Mother 3 does come to switch in the west, would it be called Earthbound 2 since it is the 3rd Earthbound game with NES game being first followed by Earthbound on SNES and then this game?

They could try releasing the completed N64 version of Mother 3, I'd buy that based on curiosity.

I kinda wished there would be an Earthbound Trilogy for 3DS/Switch, where all 3 games were remade. I know it won't happen, but it would've been nice.
They don't even have to remake them - just the original trilogy on one cartridge would be enough, especially as a launch title for Switch. The disappointing thing about Mother 3 on Switch (if it happens) is that it likely won't appear on the Wii U, which is kind of annoying for those who have bought the other two games on that console.

This would be the stupidest thing ever. Not even that I would hate them doing this (assuming it isn't priced like a full priced game), but because of all the games that don't get a retail release by comparison.
@kkslider5552000 Is it really so stupid? People have been screaming for a Mother 3 release for years; what better way to please the fans than to release the trilogy on one cartridge? Maybe/probably I am misunderstanding you but I don't see the connection you seem to be referring to.
In a weird random event, there was a "Localize Mother 3" sign in the crowd of today's WWE Money in the Bank event.

Ha, i wonder if that's the same person who had a sign saying the same thing a few months back on RAW, or just a copycat. I always love when people throw up some totally random signs at events.
I'm now starting to think that Nintendo are keeping Pikmin 4 and Mother 3 for a rainy day, or in other words for when they have a drought. They don't to release them now as they have a release a month which Nintendo thinks is fine. Also, releasing them soon won't increase sales of Switch as production of the hardware is already bottlenecked as it is and buying a Switch is impossible in some countries.
It could be at least another year before we see them publicly. Besides, Nintendo don't have their act together with Virtual Console, that's likely not going to be ready before 2018.
